~ The minutes of the"m~eting of May 28th were read. A motion was made
bV Mr. Haiey to accept the minu~es as read, it was seconded and so voted.
A r'equest to hold a dance at the Nantucket 80'¥S''Club on Oune ?,
i969, was received from' Oohn 0. Roche. There was some discussion
about drinking going on during these dances. A motion was made to ·
grant this request with the stipuiation that there will be no alcohoiic
beverages consumed on the premises. It was seconded and so voted.
~. Mr.~Dames R. Bartsch requested permissi°n for his chiidren'to
operate a horse drawn buggy for rides around town on a fee basis.
After due consideration, a motion was made to grant this request. It
~as seconded ~nd so voted.
-.The foiiowing request for renewai of licenses were received and it
was voted that these take the course prescribed bviaw and be properly
inspected before iicenses couid be granted. It was seconded and so voted

Henry W. Fee., Or. dba Henr'y's Sandwiches requested
a Common Victualler~s license, soft drink license
m~lk and ice cream and there was to be background
music.

ThOmas Igoe renewal'of Taxi Permit
Michael'D~iscoll requested pe~mission to erect'a sign on
the southeasterly corner of 23 Broad Street. A motion was made to
grant this request subject to the approval of the Historic Districts
Gommission. It was seconded and so voted.
...... ~'~ The White Elephant requested permission to have Seddon W~ L~gg
appointed as' Special Police Officer in relation to his job as
Night Watchman. This request was approved subject to the approval
of Ghief Wendell Howes.
Ghief Howes requested that'the following be appointed as Special

A motion was made to approve this request, it was seconded end
voted.
A request was received from the Dept. of Public Works to have
the following appointed as Special Police:
Robert M. Oones
Harry Clute
Cyril Ross
Robert Marks
A motion was mede to grant this request, it was seconded and so voted
A ietter was received from Archer 8. desCognets regarding the dust
on Shimmo Oii and asked if a portion of that road couid be oiied. This
