.... ... .... Mr~'Andrew Lewis brought up't~e s~bject 'Of~hading'a Quahaug
in Mabaket, in the Cambridce St.'vicinity.' He 'objected strongly
against %his, saving that the' people and children living in
vicinity were unhappy about the situation.' Mr. Lewis and two of his
friends who live in Madaket discussed this matter,"stating that the
.Haffenreffers and the Crocker were also objecting to this situation.
The Board assured Mr. Lewis and his friends that the~ ne~d n~t
be'~onG~rned about this matter as they had a ruling from Town Counsel
whereby the Board could not grant such a permit~
A letter was received from Helen C. Crocker regarding the above
matter, statin~ her objections. ~ ·
~.~. Mr. John McLaughlin'asked the Board if aoy action, had bash.taken
~on"the matter.that he brought up two weeks ago. He was told that
no decision had been made on this as vet.
e MacDonald asked if the Town o~ned the roads in Tristram
Landing, in Madaket as there are some big holes out there and he did
.not know if the D.P.W. has the right to work on this'property.~ He
was told that the Town owned some of the roads.and a layout of.this
.plan would be sent to the D.P.W. for their information. ·
Gilbert Markarian, District M~nager of the New'Bedford'Gffics of
the Blue Cross - Blue Shield, and Robert Granfield, a district~agent
were present to discuss an increase in the rates on the Town's renewal
Contract w~ich comes up in May. .
M~. ~2ohn D. Mann requested permission for a license for Sunfish,
Sailboats, etc. from June 2hd..to Labor Day weekend. Mr. Norcross
made a motion to take this matter under advisement, it was seconded.-.. ~
and so voted. ~ .~.
A letter was received from the Count~ Personnel Board establishing
the Sheriff's salary to be $4,249.00 effective Oanuarv 1st.
The Navy Wives Group requested permission t0 have a Western Night
on MaV 31st, at the American Legion Hall, from B:OD to 12:OD P.M.
Mr. Norcross made a motion to grant this request, it was seconded and ,
so voted.

the Siasconset Book Store~for the sale of ice cream, soft drinks
and milk and from John Arno for Vincent's Restaurant~~ with background
music. It was voted to grant'these reqoest subject~to tnspection~
