The meeting came to order at 7.30 PM all members of the Board b6ing present.
Igarrant No.'2,"t~talling $34,754.75 was presented~by Town Acct.' Barrett and checked and approved by the Board. :
Minutes of the Previous meeting were read and approved. ..
Hr Parker ~ra~ asked permission to use a tape recorder at the meeting and
on motion duly made and seconded said request was not approved,
Dr. Gerry Sehnelle presented a paper on p011ution done by Br. Francis D. goore
and also gave the Board an outline o£ suggestions for action by the Board
on this matter which were received and taken under advisement,
~r. Gray discussed with the Board the matter of tax titles ere. and after"
some discussion it was voted to instruct the town counse1'to prepare
:necessary articles to have the town take the area at Surfside from the
old life saving sra. aprox, to giacomet pond,' and also ~e area across. '
the head of Hummock Pond.
Hr. Prank Hardy was present and protested th~ request pre~iously received
for a restaurant at ~he Rugge property on ~nd~a St. a letter was received
from ~rs Yah Pelt on this same matter also protesting and same were filed
until our next meeting.~
The matter o£ South Shore road being made passable ~as discussed and it
'voted to refer this to the DPN for attention, the layout having now been

Mr.' Henry ~qasierieski requested that the Board ask the State Div
Fisheries to make a modern day study of.Nant. Harbor to see if any-
pollution exists ~hich would ban the taking-of shellfish as no~ set
out on the state permits. -:,,
Ir. Charles Davis was-present.a a requested that the oara consider the
'allowing of comm.'scallop £ishermen, he in particular to use a town owned
guest mooring same to be returned by the user to wheree~e~-it ~as obtained
and the user to provide a cash'deposit to take care of any damages ete.~
..the deposit to be returned on return of the mooring,' this matter was dis:
cussed at some length but no action ~as taken thereon.".' .". .'',
Hr. parker Gray advised that the residents of Fairgrounds road wished to
~ ' request.that the DP~ not use any salt in sanding operations,that'~ight
. be necessary in this area, due to the many private ~ells,in the area.

Bids on fUrnishing of fuel oil for Town bldgs were~received as follows:'

It was voted that same be awarded to the lowest bidder Sh~rburne'Oil
A request:Of the local legion post to replace the present flag pole at
the Sq. in front of the Leg. bldg. with a Fiberglass Pole was approved:
