The minutes of the previous meeting were ~ead and approved.
Bidswere received from only one bidder, Franklin Bartlett,~for installing a
· ,new heating system at the Central Fire Station, the bid being in the.
amount of $9,484.00; which was within the appropriation; and it was voted
to accept said bid and award the contract to Bartlett.
It was voted to have the D.P.IV. install signs on Pine and Federal streets, same
now being missing. · .,
A request was received from Peg Kelley relative to Speeding on Quaise'roads.
and requesting a Slow Sign be erected in the area and ii was so voted.~
It was~a'ls° Voted to install "No Parking" Signs on Quidnet Road. from the turn '
to the beach on the land side. '
A request was-received from the ~First Congregational Church requesting per-
mission to close off Center Street from noon until S:$0 P.M.'on August 8th
in conjunction wi~h their Fete. It was voted to approve same from Ash
Lane to Lily, and it was~further ~oted that No. l~ater Street be !'No, ~
Parking Either Side" during this period and that traffic be allowed to
move in both directions on No. $~ater St. .. :- '~
It was voted to erect a Slow sign on Twin Street. ~,
Madaieine Pag0~ was granted a permit to show a movie at Bennett Hall on the :
17th of August.
A letter was received from Town Counsel Sanguinetti~relativeto hedges.
'encroaching on streets and sidewalks, and it was voted to insert an ad_
in the paper notifying property owners that hedges must be cut back to
the property line or we will have same done at the owners expense.
it was voted to gdvertise for bids on the truck for the D.P.~V., same to be in
~.~the hands of the Board by 14 August, 1968. ~ ~ .....
