The minutes'of the previous meeting were' read and approved. Frank Dinsmore and SVilliam carlton were 'present and:'requestEd ~ permit to operate a dance at the Nantucket Boys' Club on Saturday the 20th from 8 to 12 for teenagers from 1S to 20. This matter was approved subject to notification as to. special police officers~ Mr. Langdbn Barnes,,a resident of commercial [qharf, was present and suggested that the corner of New I~hale Street into Commercial Wharf should be rounded to make the access more accessible and requested some consideration of some oiling to hold down the dust. ~He also inquired as to the legal situation as regards the use of this way as a public road. Miss Gibbs and:Mrs. Saltonstall, als0 residents of the area were 'pre~ent and reiterated Mr. Barnes' complaints and suggestions. A letter was received fr~m Richard Ledwell:relative' to"noise ~mana~ing from ' the ~hite'.Elephant help's quarters. Charles Fleming and Joseph Sylvia were present and spoke on this matter and Mr. and Mrs.~Rich~rd Kotalac also complained about same. ~ '" It' was voted t0 have.the Secretary write a letter to Mr[ 'Richard DavenPort, the Manager,'calling these complai2ts'to his attention apd..suggesZi.ng that some action be taken to curb this nuisance. . It was Voted to r~quest the opinion"0f the To~ Counsel 'as to'any law covering ~ the Town's,right to cut back hedges which obstruct vision, at intersections 'it ~as Voted t0,,h4ve the o.P.w.~:CUt'-the brush at~t~e intersection'of Grove Lane and New Lane.
