The regular'weekiy'mee~ing o£ the Board came,to order, at 8:20 P.M.', having'been
preceeded by a County Commissionerst Meeting. All members o£ the Board

Warrant No. 28, totaling $52,701.12, was presented by Town Accountant Barrett
and was checked and approved by the Board ....
The minutes of the'previOus meeting were read and"ap rovedl
Mr. Ralph Hardy'0'£ Madaket Admiralty Asso. was pre~ent and requested that the
Board mark the area at the west side o£ the Town Ramp from Tennessee Ave.
to the Ramp as No Parking and it was so voted.. ~. ,.-
Col. Stkcy Knoph WaS present in regard to a'curbing"at'hi's Main street Property
which he claimed was canted out into the street and should be re-set; and
this matter was re£erred to the D.P.W.. ' ~ ...... .,.'
Mr. Robert Leske was present again on the trans£er o£ the all. alcoholic Beverag~
License £rom A. Preston Manchester to La Crepe o£ Nantucket, Inc. and"
'suggested that the Board establish a regulation that the number o£ licenses
that any person may have or control should be limited.' This matter was
discussed at some length with those.: present; and Mr.' Perry o£ Thirty Acres
was present and presented a petition signed by various residents protesting
the trans£er o£ the all Alcoholic Beverage License o£ Mr. Manchester and
suggested that they were interested in the continuation o£ a working men's
bar and that i£ any license were trans£erred, it should be the l~ine and
Malt and not the all'alcoholic. Inasmuch as the ten days period £rom time
o£ advertising had not lapsed, no action was taken at this time.

Bids were received on the paving o£ Eel Point Road and there being'0nly'one
bidder, lYalter F. Glowacki, in the amount o£ $37,700.00; it was voted that
same be approved i£ within the appropriation and in accordance with the
State D.P.1V.' regular'ions.
Mr. I~alter Glowacki was present and'discussed with the Board the'possibility
o£ obtaining a license for dancing on Sundays so that he could ctose.h~s
bar at ~he Surff Restaurant and have-the premises available £or.teenage ..
dancing only on Sundays.. This matter was discussed at some lepgth and it
was the Board's opinion that we would not grant any permits £or daRci~g.
on-Sundays. . ~:
Mr. Arnold Small, Chairman-'b£ 'the Finance committee, and ReP.` ^rth~ Desrocher./
were present and discussed with the Board the. contents of the House BiOl./
4635 which is a Bill to re-arrange the Cherry Sheet distribution £ormula
to the various Town in the Commonwealth. Inasmuch'as this would.cause a-
serious cut in the amount Nantucket would receive, it wa~ Voted to
to Senator Alan Jones protesting the pass.age o£ this Bill in-the Senate.
~ith reference to the Blue Cr0ss/Blue Shield contract coverage, the Board:',,
voted to adopt a contract calling for a $25.00 deductible plan with full
semi-private coverage a£ter the payment o£ the $25 deductible
Mr. t~illiam ~itchie ~£ Discovery Playhouse Presented his Schedule "0£ legitimate
theater productions £or July and August and same was Voted approved.
Sconset Casino was granted a permit to show motion pictures on Sundays.
