Barrett and checked and approved by the Board. *' ,' Minutes'of the previous meeting were read and approved. ~ , Various of the' Towns lifegaurds were Present and presepted a letter to the Board calling attention to their low rate of pay and requesting con- ,sideration of a bonus arrangement whereby those that remain for the full ,season would receive additional funds. This matter was taken under ad- ' visement. Mr.~War~en Valero was present and discussed with the Board the matter of a permit to remove a tree on Beaver St. near the property of John Beamish and it was suggested that he confer with the DPI~ on this matter.'Mr. Valero stated that he would like to submit a bid on spraying for ra~eed under the provisions of Art. 37 and that he thought he could make an that would be attractive to the town inasmuch as he was doing work for the Gas and Elec. Co. also. This m&tter was taken under advisement. The matter of bids on heating plan at the central fire station was discussed and it was voted to request the bidders to resubmit bids to covqr some additional work it was decided to have done. Resubmitted bids to be in' by next meeting. A letter was received from Joan Aguiar and Violet Clarks0n asking for permissio! to have a chuck type wagon at the Francis St. Beach next season,,the parties were present and explained thgir suggestion to the Board and stated that they would be happy to discuss any alternative suggestions the Board might have. , ~'~ Miss Madeline Pagon~was present and requested Permission to'show 2 motion:. pictu~.es at Bennett Hall in August and same was approved subject to our being advised of the titles eth. A letter was recei~,~d from the H.D.C. advising that they were in favor of any change that might be necessary in th~;town by-law to allow the us~ treated-fire resistant chingles in the Town proper.
