was checked and approved by the Board.~ ·
The' minutes ef the previous meeting were read and approved.
Mr. Albert Glowacki was present and submitted a bid on Cutting of grass at
various park areas in the village of Siasconset. After somediscussion
it was voted to table this matter for one week..' blt. Glowacki stated that
if there were someone in Sconset who was willing to do this job, he would
be' very happy to withdraw his bid.
[4r. Robert Christman was present On 'the matter 'of the bulldozing work done at
the South Beach area by Dr. Snhnelle. Mr. Christman presented pictures
he had taken of the area at high and low tides, which very distinctly
showed that work had been done in tidewater. ~ biembers of the Board had
examined the area in question, and it was~voted to write Dr. Schnel.le
and advise that he have this material returned to the foreshore at once.
bit. Parker Gray of the Conservation Commission was present and ~reported on the
cattail removal program.
Notice was received from the Dept. of Public Works relative to bulkheading and
dredging to be done by the Nantucket Yacht Club, the Board having pre-
viously received a notice on ,this same subject f~om the Army Engineers.
Contents were noted and filed.
A letter was"re'ceived from Island Service Company, Inc. advising that they
were intending to put fuel pumps for the servicing of boats on the end ~f
Commercial %~harf, no storage being involved at that location as the .fuel
being pumped by pipeline, directly from the tank farm area and asking if
any permit was necessary for this operation. It was voted to advise that
inasmuch as there was no storage at the location of the pumps, that no
permit would be necessary~. :,, .... .. . ~.~ .......
The following licenses and permits were applied for and approvedi.' Harold
Lindley for Innholders License at Four ~himneys Inn at 58 Orange St.; .
James E. Worth, permit to keep chickens and geese at premises' off Hummock
Pond Road; and Eugene Burgess~' a renewal of his Taxi Permit.,~
There being no further business, the Board went into Executive Session and.
adjourned at 10:00 P.~l. ' ' :'~.
EXECUTIVE: SESSION ~ ' ~ ~
The following matters relative to the Dept. of Public I~orks were discussed
and voted:
1 Install an obstruction sim/~lating the fountain on Lower' ~lain Street
at a location approximately on the easterly line of Union Street as
'ex,:ended into Main and place signs in front of the IVater Company and the
Nobby Shop stating "Parallel Parking Only." The purpose of this being to
determine traffic flow and to try to arrive at a satisfactory location
for the fountain itself.

5. t~ith reference to the quesZion of oiling the road being relocated
~along the easterly line of the Dinsmore and Haddon property from Eel
Point Road, it ~as voted to leave same in its natural graded state with
no oiling.
4. Voted'to'request that the Signs on D~ck Street previously Voted be
S. ~ol')is Cemetery: Instail a ~'plitlrail' fence on the front and t~o sides
and remove the present fence on the front and re-install it at the rear.

to be consulted before any appointments were made to permanent positions
in the Police Department.
