Minutes Of the previous meeting were read and' approved. Mr. Frank Dinsmore and Mr..~Vm. Haddon were p~e'sent and discussed with the 'Board the possability of the town relocating a town road which now., bisects there property at Dioness, stating that they would grant to the town necessary land to relocate this rdad further to the East , ~ and nearer the location of the travelled road that is now being used -for access to the town beach. This matter was discussed and referred to the next county commissioners meeting. : Mr. John T- Mulligan in behalf of the junior class was granted' permission to hold a carnival at Bennett Hall on Sat. March $0th from t 1AM to 'SPM. Bids were r~ceived on the furnishing Of fire hose and misc. equipment 'for the fire dept. under article 82 of the annual warrant from Robinson Co. Gotham Fire Equipment Co. and Ch's. Clougherty Co.' After. discussion, with Chief Bartlett it was voted to award this bid contract to the Chs.~ Clougherty Co. for the total bid price of $197S.00 less 2% town pay day. Only one bid' Was ~ received for the furnishing Of radio equipment for,the Fire Dept.' under Art. 8S, that from Motorolo Co. in the total amount of '-$2S86.00 and same was Voted approved. ~. ~ '-~'~ Bids were received for the furnishing of a fireworks' dis'play on 'the 4th of July from Nationwide Fire Works Co.; Interstate Fireworks and Atlas ' "Display Firewbrks. It was voted to award this contzact to Interstate .~ Fireworks for the price of $1500.00 dollars and that the display be held ' ~ on the 4th of July in the evening at the Jetties Beach area. ' Bids Were received gr0m Hilco SuPpl~' Co and Johns Manville'Co. for tl{e furnishing of asbestos cement pipe for the DeFt of Public works, the Board examined the bids with Supt. of DPIV and voted to mvard this contract .~o llilco Supply Co." : Bids were 'received from onlylone bidde~r, Marine Lumber Co. for the Split . rail fence under art. 44, in the amount of 1201~50 and it was voted to accept same. ,_:... ,- 0n~y One bid was received for the Flexi-rod sewer aleahe~ under At~' 41E,' that from the J. F. McDermott Co. in the amount of 585.00 and same was -voted accepted .~ ' ~: :"A" '}~: " only one bid was received for the XL 12 Homelite chain saw and equipment .'under article SSA that' from Todd Marine Co. in the amount of 525.00 dollars and same was voted accepted. '..' ;..i::,~ :':-'-"~,-.'' ; '~ "- - :' :...~ i ' Bids on Brush'cutting at Coffin Park under article 32 were received from Kenneth Coffin ih the amount of 424.00 and from Island Eacavating Co. in the amount of 599.00 dollars and after discussion with Supt Driscoll it Was voted that aame be awarded Island Excavating Co. work to be done by April 30th. ,,,, Bids on the' furnishing Of a new Police Cruiser under Art. 90 were received from Gordon' Ford Co. in the amount of 2038.S2 and from Island Motors Inc, in the mn0unt of 146S.00. It was voted to accept the bid of Island Mtrs. The Navy i~ives club was granted permission to hold a raffle on 3 July 1968. Selectmens bieeting 27 btarch*68 " Page 2. ' .... : ~' Nantucket Island Products Co..Inc.~ was 'granted a renewal of its common vict. license and its ent. license covering pzano, organ and recorded music weekdays only and incidental dancing weekdays only.' A letter was received from the Nant. ltist. A~mo. relative to the Old Town bldg. re( time in which to study this matter before coming to a final decision and same was approved. " George Hamblin was present and'inquired when the work would start on the relaying the sewer on Derrymore Road as voted by the~Town, this -. matter was discussed with Supt. Driscoll and he stated that they c6uld start this work on ~{onday next. Supt.'Driscoll requested approval to' ,- use the small back hoe of Nant. Const. Co. for this job as their were many old connections and lines that would have to be worked around that this e~ was best suited for 'and same was )roved. A letter was received from Donald Boyd requesting a ~ine and malt alcoholic li~:ense or an all alcoholic license on premises on St' ;~harf,' Nantucket operated by him. As there are no licenses available at this time, this :ter was filed.' ,- Nlr.' Abbott Johnson, bit. Man at Our Island Home was granted apProval'of his vaction from 8,April to 21 ,, It was voted to adv. for ~ids for the scrubbing machine for the Town · bldg. under Art 18 same to be in by 10 April 68. ,' ,-:~. : Applications for renewal of alcoholic beverage licenses were'received from ~ the Harbor House, ~hite Elephant and Siasconset Book Store and voted 'to take the course prescribed by law.' '~. ..... ,~, : ,~,, Pole on on Silver street was approved for the Nant. Gas & Blec. C~.' Voted to'adv, for~bids for the leasing of the Jetties Tennis Court~i':'same to be in by 10 April 68., A letter was received from Ri Colgate grantin~ permission to ~p~n:,{ · ~, Sesachacha Pond to the Ocean and referred to the DPEX. ~ ~', .... A notice was received from the U S.
