The Weekly meeting of the Board of Selectmen'~came to order at 7:30 P.M., all
members being present. .~. . ....

'and was checked and approved by the Board.''
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approyed.
It' was voted to write ~o the Nantucket Historical Association o££ering them the
. Old Town Building as provided in Article 25 of the last Annual Town
Meeting Warrant.
Peter Guild 'and Joseph Lopes were present and discUssed with' the Board the idea
of licensing party boats at, Nantucket. It was suggested that we try to
establish~aftregulation providing a fee and providi.ng that the only persons
eligible would be those who have personally resided on Nantucket for at
.. least six months. It was s~ggested that we contact Rep. Desrocher and-
ask him to determine at the Sta~e level whether or not such a regulation
might be acceptable inasmuch as we~would have to have a special'act of
the Legislature to accomplish this.
A request was received from the DePt. Of Pu~lic'[qorks,'Mosquito Control Division
relative to the opening of Sesachacha and'Hummock Ponds. It ~as voted, to
approve the opening o£ Hummock Pond and to delay the opening of Sesachacha
Pond until we had obtained approval from Mr. Richard Colgate.
Resignations were received £rom Norman Gi£fin a~d ~ai'ter' c.' Knott of"the
Personnel Board,'and it was voted to accept same and to write each a
, of thanks for their services. "
The Board approved the application of.~he local Red Men' for'a beer and wine
license for Saturday, March 16th in connection with a private party and
dance..
Frank Marques'was p~esent and discussed with"the Board the"probl~m'o£ chickens

A letter was received from the Town Counsel relative to the salaries as voted'q
at Town Meeting and in which.the Town Counsel advised that,the Board was
empowered to set any salaries other than elected Town employees as they.
may desire within the limits of the appropriation voted'by the Town. In..
this respect it was voted that-the Board approve the salaries as set forth
. in-the Town Warrant under Article 8 and the special Article relative to
Fire and Police Chiefs, ail retroactive to 1 January.'

received and voted to take the~course prescribed by law: Sankaty Head
c; Golf Club, Murray's Beverage Store,'Thirty Acres; ~auwinet House, Allen's

It was voted't0'adver~ise'for bids'on'Articles 82, 85 and 90, ail to be in the
hands of the Board by March 27th.
