The regular meeting of the Board 0f~selectmen'came to order'at
7:30 P.M. with all members,being present except Mr. Holdgate.
Warrant No.,2, ~t~ta!ing~,$49,954.~ll, was presented by Town Accounta~
Barrett and was checked and approved by the Board.
The minutes of the'previous meeting were read and approved.
Mrs. Grace Klingelfuss, Attorney, was present representing various
property owners in Monomoy and filed'a ~etter-type brief
relative to the ownership of various Monomoy properties
relative to the Petition before the Board for'the ~aying out
and accepting of two~roads,'in the area.'* The BOard discussed
this matter at some length with Mrs.~Kltngelfuss and also
With Mr. Charles'Sayle of the Rights of Way Committee. No
action was taken at this time as~the hearing on this
is set for the latter part of January. ~,
Mr, Robert Caidwell was present in behalf of Nautican Realty Co,
a~d presented a plan showing ~he present boatyard area and
the Town-owned Property to.,the~south. He stated that he
would like to purchase a small strip of'land to the'~p~th of
their property, and to lease a larger, section which~s~pre-
sently used for, the st0rage~of~moorings and on which the~
Town defrays~ no income. · This matter was discussed and
Mr. Caldwell~was advised that it was necessary to'have appro-
priate articles drawn up and placed in the Warrant for the
Annual Town Meeting. ' ~ ,~ ~
Mr. ~a~ley~6f Pe~tryn'systems, In~.' was~present and alights'ed
with the Board'thew°rk done by this c~mpany and
-~'~ ~hey had enc6untered and what they recommended for~.t~"coR-
Bids on furnishing fuel~oil for Town-owned properties were
received from Harbor Fuel Oii~C~p.'16.5 cents per'~ailon
and Sherburne Oil Co.,at~15.2 cents per gallon. It was
'voted that same be awarded to the lowest bidder, Sherburne
i Oil Co..~'~' ' ~'~ ~ ~ ~'
On reeg~[m~endation of Chief Howes John J. Kane was appoih~ed~a
special police officer for service with the Nantucket Police
Dept.
Islan~ Motors, Inc. was granted a ~enewal of its Class ~ Used Car
Dealers License.
It was voted to request the t~o Island print shoPs' to Submit bids
for the printing of the Town Report for the next meeting.
There being no further business, the Board went into Executive
Session and adjourned at,10:00 P.M.
