Th'e meeting came to order at 7.30 PM all members of the Board
being present. ~, ,~

~Acct. Barrett and checked and'approved by the Board.
Minutes of the previous meeting were 'read and approved.
Mr. Tell Berna was~present~'and discussed ,with the Board the
.. advisability of purchasing a small parcel of land at
the rear of the high school atheletic field, presently
i,, owned by Edward Backus. Suggested that he had talked
· ~ with Mr. Backus and that he was not averse to selling same.
~ The Board' advised that we would look into this matter.
A letter was received from Mrs'Sidne'~ Small accepting appt.
to the Adult ~ducation committee.
on request of Chief Howes, Ray Eger was appointed a Sp. Police
officer, in connection with his caretaker duties at Square
and Quidnet '
A letter '~as'~eceived from th$"VFW stating their position that
the fountain should be returned to its original position
at the foot of Main Street. , ,'-, .... ,~'.- , -,
'"A letter was received from Roger Hoy of N.E. Airlines advising
that they would be happy,to meet with 'the Board,~and
'stating ,that if the. runway was extended they would'provide ,
,' jet'se, rvice,to Nantucket next, summer

session and adj. at 9.30 PM.
