27 September, 1967
The regular"weekly.meeting of the B6ard Of ~'ele6tmen came'to order
at 8:00 P.M. with all members of the Board being present.

Accountant Barrett and was checked and approved by the Board.
The minu~e~ of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Mr. Franklin Bartlett was present and asked if the Board were
to take any action on changing center Street from Lily to
chester so that it would be possible for south-boUnd traffic
to'enter Lily Street. Mr. Bartlett was advised that the
Board had discussed this ~atter at some length and decided
to make no change in the status of~this street at this time.
Bids'were received on the installation of a.sprinkler System at
Our Island Home under Article' 79 of the 1967 Town Warrant as
follows: Holyoke Valve and Hydrant Co., $13,750.00;
Grinnell Corp., $12,645.00; Automatic Sprinkler Corp.,
$11,923.00; Bartlett's, Nantucket, $13,656.00.

A letter was ~eceived from Mr. Roger Cabot'of Anchor Inn, 66 Center
Street, Nantucket, requesting a common ~ictualler license at
said premises.to cover the serving of breakfasts only from l
8:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. This matter was taken under advise-
ment and later in the meeting it was voted that in accordance
with the Board's policy of not granting any additi°nal~rest-
aurant licenses in a residential area, to deny this'applicatio

It was voted'that the Board write a letter to Mr. Crocker snow, .

Mr. Louis Davidson was present and qu~sti0ned'the'adviSability of
the Board,s holding a private meeting with Federal and;State
'- officials ~elative to State and Federal"aid.' 'Chairman Norcro~
' advised that this meeting was merely an exploratory One'and
th~ no decisions of any sort had been made by the Board.
There being no further business, the Board Went into Executive
Session and adjouCned at 9:45 P.M.~
