Selectmen's Meeting
The Selectmen's Meeting came to order at 8':15 P.M.,'havtng been
preceeded by a County CommisSioners Meeting. All members of
the Board were present.
Warrant No. 37, totaling $25,079.10, was presented by Town Account.
ant Barrett and was checked and approved by the Board.
The minutes of the previous meeting'were read and approved.
Mr. Parker W. Gray of ~the Nantucket COnservation Commission, was
present and discussed with the Board the ~atter of the ConsUe
Spring area~and the water conditions thereabouts. It was
voted to have two of the planks at the spillway replaced so
as to provide more water in the Pond and also to see what
effect, if any, this will have on the water conditions in
the area. ~ ~
The White Elephant Hotel~was 'granted permission to store their
float on the beach at the Children's Beach for the winter as
in previous years.
Alice Carey Williams of 18 Cliff Road wrote requesting a brick
sidewalk at her~premtses at said address and same was voted
referred to the Dept. of Public Works.
A letter was received 'from'F~.' Thomas Gibson, Manager at Nantucket
Memorial Airport, advising that the various projects appli~
cations and requests for site approvals had been received and
that the Airport Commission had asked what decision, if any,
the Board had made on the runway extension.before signing
these applications.' It was voted to meet with the Airport
Commission to discuss this nm tter.
The Board was presented a Notice from.the sherrif relative,to the
drawing of Traverse Jurors for the fall sitting of the
Court, and it was voted to meet at the Office of the Town
Clerk at 10:45 A.M. on Friday, Sept. 8th for this Purpose.~
A pole location on Grove Lane was approved for'the Nantucket Gas -~& Electric Co., notices having been sent to abutters.
The Board discussed the specifications on the sprinkler System at
· Out Island Home, and it was voted to advertise for ~ds, same
.. to be in the hands of the Board by 8:00 P.M. on 27 Sept. 1967
There being no further,,bustness, the Board went into Executive
Session and adjourned at 10:00 P.M.'
