A'notice was received from Jose Reyes, Secretary of the. HiStoric
District Commission calling~the Board's attention to.':the
fact that~a vacancy existed in the H.D.C. due to the resig-
nation of H. Errol Coffin. It was vo~ed to hold a joint
~meeting With the remaining members of the H.D.C. and the
Selectmen on June 9th at 4:30 P.M. for the purpose of
electing a person to fill this vacancy.
An application was received from Joan Lake for a Permit'to hang
a sign at her place of business on Federal Street, same
having been approved by the Historic District Commission,
and was voted approved. ~
Kent K. King was granted a renewal of his Taxi'Permit.
Annie Correia, Lower Orange Street, DBA The snack Shop, was
granted a renewalo'of her Common Victualler license subject
to inspection. ~. ~ .- ~
A formal'request was received from Walter F. Glowacki requesting
the approval of the transfer of'Stock of Nobadeer Restaurant.
Inc. to Joseph J. Colucci of~22 Averton Street, Roglindale,
Mass. and same was voted to take the course prescribed by
A application was received from Kenneth N. Pease~for a Permit to
store gasoline in an underground tank of 500~gall°n capacity
at premises on Monomoy Road, and the date for hearing was
set for 14 June at 10:00 A.M. ·
It was voted to have 'the yellow line on So. Water St~ 'oPposite
the Fire Station extended to the north ~to~ provide better
~. egress from the Fire Station. "
It was voted to approve the transfer of the stock of Siasconset
.. Book Store, Inc. from Louis Scagliarini and James F. Gill tO
Edward J. O'Connor and Fred R. O'Donnell.
Being no further business, the Board went into Executive Session
and adjourned at 10:30 P.M..

31 May 1967
The Meeting came to order at 8:00 P.M. With all members of the
Board being present. ,~ ,,
Warrant"No. ~24, totaling $122,476.49, was present'ed by Town
Accountant Barrett and was checked and approved by the?.Board
The minutes of the previous meeting~,~e~e~read~and~ approved~by~c ~
the Board. ~
Mr.~ Earl Mayo Was present and complained that surface water from
Hooper Farm Road and Newtown Road was run~ing into his
property on Hooper Farm Road and suggested that in the new
construction on Newtown Road that adequate provision be
made for drainage so 'as to take care of this situation. The
Board stated that they would look into this matter.
Mr. Allen Holdgate, ShellfiSh Warden, was'present and discussed
with the Board the matter of people'driving jeeps over
various dunes in the,Madaket area, and it was agreed that
the Board would have the D.P.W. construct some signs stating,
, '~ to be erected in this area.

Mr. Holdgate also discussed with the Board the matter of moorings
in the Harbor, and it was agreed that under the pertinent
Statutory provisions, the Harbor Master has all, necessary
authority in this matter. ~ It was voted to write a letter
.... ~ to Mr. Ed~Tarvis reqUesting his~cooperation as regards
,-~ · moorings in the Easy,Street slip (so-called).
Frank Hardy,was~present and called to the Board's attention the
high water~level in Hummock Pond ~hich~was flooding property
of his aunt,~Ethel Dunbam and reqUested the Board look into
the matter of,opening the Pond again. ~
WalterGioWacki w~s present and discussed with the Board the
matter or-bids submitted last week on road work. The'Board
voted to have a meeting with Mr. Driscoll of the D.P.W. on
" Monday next,to square this matter away.~, ~,~ "
Bids were received from George Andrews on the setting of 'the Town
guest moorings in the amount of $570.00. B~ds were also ~
received from GeOrge Andrews and Walter Barrett on the
Madaket area buoys'in the amount of $990.00; Polpis Harbor
buoys, $590.00 and the construction and setting of the Upper
Harbor bUoys'under A~ticle 70 in the amount of $495.00. It ,
was voted that the bids on all except the Polpis Harbor buoys
be accepted.
A letter was 'received~from Bernard Rogers of the Mass~ Hospital
Service concerning contracts for the Town and County employee
and same were executed by the Board.
