Warrant No. ~16, totaling $65,93~.14, was presented by Town Accountant Barrett, and was checked and approved. The minutes of the Previous meeting were read and approved. A letter was received from Capt.'~H. A.'Campbe~l, Jr., United -~ States Coast Guard, Aids to Navagation Branch, advising that they had'instituted a project to have a daybeacon ~rected at the end of the western Jetty. Willie House was granted a renewal of his juke box license for Sundays at the Chicken Box Restaurant. The Green Coffee Pot, Inc. was granted permission to close for two weeks.starting on April 18th. A request was received from Mrs. Harold Lindley in behalf of the Nantucket Garden Club for permission to erect a banner on . Main Street and to close off Main Street from Fair'Street to Pleasant on July~19th from 2-6.P.M.'for the purposes of their Annual FloWer Show and same was'approved by the Board. VA request was received~from Mr. 'Joseph RUffner or'the Nantucket Chamber of Commerce requesting permission to erect a 'post on the sidewalk oposite.their entranc~ at the Pacific Club for the purpose of erecting~a sign designating the.Chamber of Commerce. It was voted~to approve'the erection of a post and a sign, the same to be flat against the buildings. Ralph Marble was granted a reneWal Of his AuctiOneer License. Marguerite~Barrett and~Chester Barrett, Jr. applied to the Board for a permit to store gasoline in.an underground tank of 500-gallon capacity on premises at.Somerset Road. It was voted that a hearing on this application be held at the premises on 26th of April at 10:00 AiM. Mr. Bernard Robers, District Representativ~of the MaSsachusetts Hospital Service, was present and*conferred with the Board-~ with regard to the renewal of the Group Hospital and Service Benefit program for the Town andCounty employees.~ Under the present program covering a~semi-pr~vate room at the local hospital rate of $18.00 per day,~amount to $7.30 per month for a single employee and $21.26'p~r month for a famil half of this being paid by the employee and half bY the Town and County.
