22 March 1967
The 'meeting came to.order~at 7:30 P.M. with all members present
except Andrew E. Lowell.
Warrant No. 12, totaling $22,052.24, was presented by Town
Accountant Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
W. Ripley Nels°n of the Nantucket Conservation Foundation was
present and discussed with the Board the report~of the
Department of Natural Resources relative to the study made
last summer. Mr. Nelson suggested various matters that
should be considered by the Board in the handling of this
report. The basic suggestion was that we appoint a committee
to follow up this report and to make suggestions as to how
same should be activated. The Board was in accord With this
'.~"§uggestion and advised Mr. Nelson that we would be happy to
. follow his suggestions.
Charles C. Robbins was granted a'renewal of his Common Victualler
License to operate a mobile snack bar at Cisco Beach in the
same manner as last season and including the sale of milk
and ice cream.
Mr. Parker~w.' Gray of the Conservation Commission was present and
~§ubmitted to the Board a sketch of'the planned improvements
to the, fir.s.t~ br.idge in Madaket. ~ Mr...~ Gray~a!so suggested
that-the Commisgion and the Board set a date to view this
area and also the area at Consue Spring and~ the Massasoit
"'Bridge. · It Was voted that we would~,,~at our next meeting,
set a da~e f6r such a view and adv{se.
The Board'was in'.recetpt of a precept from~ the.~.Superior Court*
relative to the drawing of a ~rand and a-Traverse Jury for
the c6min~s~ssion of Superior Court: I~'was voted to meet
at the Office of the Town clerk on Thursday,~ 23 March at
10:00~A.M,.~'_for the purpose of draw~ng;~said, jurors.~
An application was received from the Nahtucket Yacht'Club, Inc.,
John L. Hardy,-Mgr. for a renewal of ~its'~Alc0holic Beverage
License 'and same was voted to take ~the course prescribed by

It was voted t° approve the installation Of a pay"tel~phone at

The Board voted to appoint Arthur E. Butler 'al Plumbing Inspector

It was voted to advertise for various 'item~ 'as voted'for the
Dept. of Public Works under Articles 49, 52'and 53, same to
be in the hands of the Board on or before 7:30 P.M. on
April 5th;' It was also voted 'to authorize SUPerintendent
"'Dffscoll tO purchase a 'chain saw, floor jack, hay rake,
barrels and hose 'as voted under Articles 52, 53 and 54..
A letter was received from Town CoUnsel Sanguinetti thanking the
Board for his appointment and placed._on :file.
Not~'~ ~as received from the U.'.S. ~Army C~p'of Engineers advising
Of the application of Hither Creek Boat...Yard, Inc. to dredge
and construct bulkheads, etc. at tts~Madaket Property.
This notice advised that any protests should be received by
the'De, on or before 10 .April, 1967.'~'
It was voted to advise superintendent 'DrisCoil"°f the Dept. of
Public Works to terminate the services of Warren .Valero,
-effective Friday P.M., March 24th and to 'pay said employee
Being no further business,~ the Board went ~'into' Executive Session
