The meeti.ng came to order at 7,30 PM all'~members of the Board ~. being present.
Warrant No. $.totalling $15,058.19 was 'presented by Town Acct.
Barrett and checked .and approved by the Board.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read'and approved.
Mr. William Maddy of the AFL-CIO was present along with some
memebers of the DPW, Mr. Maddy stated that he had been
asked to come to the Island and had sent'some organizational
material to his contact to have completed. That he now
understood that the members of the DPW who had originally
signed~an authorization for him to"represent them had now
advised him that they had been misinformed and wished to
withdraw~their request. He did state that with reference
the the Airport personnel that he wished to~maintin his
contention ,that he represented a majority of the employees,
This matter was discussed at'some length with Mr. Maddy
and he advised that the proper procedure was for him to
notify the state labor relations board that we had denied
the fact that he'represented a majority of the Airport
employees and that they would then set up a hearing and make
a determination.
A letter was received from'Dir, Shepard of-the Div. of Pish and
Game advising that he and the director of law enforcement
would like to come to the Island on 22 March and meet with
the Board relative to the matter of,deer hdnting. It was
voted to advise that this was satisfactory with the Board.
Pole locations on'Atlantic street in'Surfside were approved for
the Nant.'Gas & Elec. Co."
A letter was received from Prancis B. Wasley relative to zoning
',- and filed. :~'-,
The'Board was in receipt.of renewal contracts for the FAA coverin~
underground cable,locations~in the Massasoit,Bridge area and
it was voted to authorize the Ch. to sign same for the Board.
The Conservation commission was gra~ted Permission to use the
': 2nd'floor meeting room on the Ist Wed.~of each month..
There being' no'further business the Board went into executive
