Warrant No. J4 totalling $14,961.O6 was Presented by Town Acct. Barrett, and chscked and approved by the Board. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. A group of Madaket residents Were present and protested the Board' s action of last meeting in voting to have the brush cut and ~the road rode pas. sable on Washington Ave., A County road in the Madaket area. After some discussion pro and con, ~ on this matter, it was voted to hold up any further action ~ until th~ Board hd a chance to make a personal inspection of the area in question. "" Mr. William Schusbik was present and presented a petition with signatures requesting the Board to reverse its previous action and approve the granting of a Cider House License to Mr. Schustik. Lester Ayers, Mr. John Eddleton, Mr.~ Frank Hardy, and Mr. Leon Royal were recorded as opposed. ~ Thsi matter was taken under advisement and late in the meeting the Board voted not to change its previous .decisibnj Only one bid was received on furnishing and installing?a heat~g plant at our Island Home. $12,756.25 from Franklin Bartlett with various suggestions ~or changes and recommendations in the specification, ~l..~F/the bid. It was voted to accept the bid and the recommendations of l~r. Bartlett. as .. regards the changes in the specifications. A letter was received from W. Ripley Nelson in favor of the Board' s action in marking the curb at Consue N~-?arking. . · Mrs. Janet DeCosta wrote relative to a stop sign at North Liberty and W. Ches- ter Streets. It was voted to ~ve a stop sign erected at West Chester St on the corner of N. Libertyso as to face east bound drivers on W. Chest.' Mr..William Schust~%'was' granted a '~rmit for a Folk Concert at Bennett Hall ~on Sunday~ Aug. 28~ 1966o -- Miss L.~ Pag°n was'g~anted a permit to sh~w motion pictures ;at Bennett Hall On 26 August. The Board signed a warrant for theState Primary, submitted by' To, aa Clerk Coffin, for September 13, 1966. ApProval was granted to Chief Bartlett to Send two men from his department to the C.D. T~raining Academy from Sept 16-18. There being no further, busiaess, the Baord Went into executive s~ssion and adj. at 10:OO PM. - ' .
