HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966-06-15Selectmen' s Meeting 15 June 1966 The meeting came to order at 8:30 PM the Department of Public Works, Warrant No. 29,~totalling 79,082.23 and checked and approved by the Minutes of the previous meeting were having been preceeded by a meeting of all memberr of the Board being present. was presented by Town Acct. Barrett Board. read and approved. The Board discussed a request of the Ai~°rt Commission for s sp$~ial Town Meeting and upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to open the warrant i'or a special Town Meeting to be held on 28th of June 1966, at the ~antucket High School Auditorium, and to insert the following articles. ........ · ,~ Article l~. ~o receive reports from ~ommitte~s which Shall come before t~is meeting. '~ ~ ~ A~ticle~ 2. To see 'if the Town ~ill Vote to ~aise and aporopriate or borrow the sum of forty one thousand dollars-($41,000.00) as the Town's share of a Federsl, State and Local program for the purpose of a runway extension of approximately ' 1500 feet at the Nantucket Memorial Airport so as to ~ccomodate Jet Aircraft. ~ VOTED:· that the war~ant for the special Town Meeting~be closed. The following licenses and permits were apolie~ for and aporoved: Chester S..' Lennox Bodman submitted his resignation Ss radio Officer of the local civil Defence unit. Same was accepted and filed. VOTED: To ~ite a letter to Dr. ~nd Mrs. A1wyn T.. Potter authorizing them to maintain their lawn, walk, and steps on Town property on Sparks Ave.,~ provided the hedge at the west end of the property is re- moved, and the bank graded back.
