'Secy. -7 selectmens Meeiing 18 May 1966~ ; ' ~ The meeting ca~e to order at 8PM all members of the Board being present ~' " '~ warrant No. 20, totalling $21,537.28 was ~ presented by Town Acct. Barrett and checked and approved by the Board. Minutes of the previous meeting were r~'ad and ~pprov~d. Mr. and Mrs Ohs. Flanagan were Pre~ent "grid info'ired as to what if any report the Board had received as to the matter of ~the gas odor in their Union St. residence from the DPH no report having been received it was voted to contact Rep. Desrocher and see if he could get some information on this matter. Mr. Driscoll the DPW Supt. was present With bids on Hooper Farm Road which were opened as follows: . Kenneth Coffin, Back hoe and front end loader 8.00 per hour with operator. Island Excavating Co. Donald Visco, 7.40 per hour with operator or 249.00 for trenching and 129.00 for back fill on a contract basis. After discussion with Sup%.'Driscoll it was voted to accept the bid of Island Excavating Co. on an hourly basis. Mr. Driscoll advised that no bids we're received on the Town road contracts and that he had been advised by both of the local contractors that they could not bid at this time. This matter was .tabled for the'time being. Vo~ed to write the Nant. Const. Co* that we wanted the. ' contract work on L. Pleasant St. and Walsh St. completed within two weeks of the time their plant was in operation. voted to approved the hireing of temporary help bY the DPW at the rate of 2.35 per hour,.number and length of employ- ment to be cleared with the Board. Mr. Parker Gray Was present and furnished the Board with some information he had obtained relative to land for the ex- tension of the Airport runway. Voted to approve the holding of ihe Well Child clinic at the new Town Bldg. June 1st and 2nd under the supervision of the Town nurse. The following license and Permits were approved all subject to inspection: Siasconset Book Store Inc. Coma vict. soft drink and Ice cream. , , Mrs Manuel Corera, common Vict. Frank Riley dba The sandpiper, Common vict. Taxi. permits: Howard Hull and Kent~K. King A letter was received from the Legion Post relative to Vet. graves and voted to advise that this was being taken care of by Mr. Garnett under the DPW. Letters were~received from the Conservation Foundation and the Civic league advising that they would furnish one third each of the funds necessary for the Conservation Survey to be made by the State.
