Minutes of the previous m'e~eting were read and approved. Mr. Clyde Black-wood, Reginald Reed.. John Gilber~ and Ralph Rudolph were present along with Mr..Tel Berna relative to the proposal'made last week bM Mr. Berna to make 'Vestal Street one Wa[. ~A letter was presented to the BOard signed by residents in the'area protesting this suggestion. Mr. Berna outlined the problem as he saw it and ~. B. lac~ood and ~. Reed also spoke as to their thoughts on the ~ matter. The matter was taken under advisement by the Board. Bids were received from only One'bidder of P~oviding a Sewer rodding machine for the DPW as follows: J. P. McDermott Inc. bid price as per specifications $2900.00 dollars. M~. McDermott was present and explained his bidd and machine to the Board and on motion duly made and seconded ii was voted to accept said bid. Bids on Compresso~ and equipment were ~eceived from only one bidde~ the P. K. Lindsay Co.~in the amount of $2798.80 as specified and Voted accepted. Bids' on a new vehicle' for the Chief of the ~ire Dept. were ~./..~.~ received from only one bidder Albert L. Silva Incj as follows: 2800.00 and voted accepted. The BOard adjourned as Selectmen at8~'~5 and reconvened for a Special meeting as CountM Commissioners, Clerk Ford[ce being preseni and taking t.he records of said special meeting. The Board reconvened as Select'menat 8~5 PM.~ Mr; Allen Holdg{te, Shellfish warden met with the Board and~ repo~ied on his lrip to the annual shellfish wardens meeting and also on results of moving seed scallops from the Coatue area. .~ .~ Mr. Holdgaie.advocated'that~the Board note on Commercail ~'~;'~ ......... Qu~hog,~t'~ce~s-e's~-~,*'hat .- no ~commercail would be allowed at ~- ~the Coatue Point area and it was so voted. Mr. Holdgaie as a resident of the'waShingt0n~St, area 'protested the granting of a license for the sale of, food in the area: which had been applied for by Mr. Moran, and said objection was noted. A letter was received from Mrd L. Bdgerton offering various comments and suggestions on signs and filed. The following applications for liquor license renewals were received and voted to take the course prescribed by law. Siasconset Book Store, Sea'Cliff Inn. and Christian Schell. Mr. Scott Stearns Jr. of Union street wrote'advising the Board of information he had received relative to gas odors in- his summer property, and same was filed until we had some report from the DPH.
