Minutes of the previous meeting' were read-and approved.
Warrant No.,4, totalling'$278,629.20 was presented by Town Acct.
Barrett~and checked and approved by.the Board.
Mr. David Murray and Mr.'LUther Fernaid Were present and dis-
cussed with the Board the matter, of the surface drain in
Walsh st. stated that they felt that a stop valve should
be installed in the. line to prevent~the sea water from
,coming up through the ,manholes ~on high tides. Mr. Murray
stated that he and the contractor Mr.:Rounsville had rigged
a temporary stop,out of plywood and,that it seemed to work.
Mr. Murray also stated that he felt the condition of the
road'should~be called to someones attention as ,the trench
was not'properly filled and there were:no obstruction lights
on same. It was voted to call these matters to the attention
of the Sewer Comm.
A lette~ was received from Mr. Alex.,Craig~ 'our member of the
steamship authority requesting,the Board to-authorize one
of its members to appear, at an ICC hereing in Boston on
'the 2nd of Feb. to protest the application of Nantucket
~. ~xpress lines~for a certificate to operate. The Board voted
to authorize the Secy. to appear in its behalf.
An application'of Miss Bridle Ledwell %°r a Street light in
Easton street near her property ,was received and filed
until the area could be looked at.
It was voted to close the Warrant for' the Annual Town 'meeting
~and election, the election to be on March 7th and the Town
Meeting probably by adjournment on,the 8th.
There being no further business the Board went into executive
session and adj. at 9.30 PM.
