The meeting Came to'order at 8. 5 PM ha'ring,been Preceeded
by a County Commissioners meeting, all members of the
Board being present;
Warrant No. 19, totalling 12,475.62 was presented by Town Acct.
Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.~
Mr. Chs. Pearl, Ch. ok and Rec. Commission wrote asking for
the use of the Town Bulldozer and operator in getting ~
the beaches ready for the summer. It was voted to advise
that we had no operator on tap but that if one could be
obtained by them we would be happy to make the dozer
available.
Mrs Chs. Flanagan was Present and thanked the Board for their
efforts in the elimination bf the gas odor from her res.
on Union St. ..
The Mad Hatter was granted a renewal of its Sunday ant. license
for recorded background music.
Pole locations on Square and Wauwinet and Polpis Roads were
approved for the Tel & Tel and Gas &Mlec. Coj
Mr. Gilbert Waine was granted an Innholders license at Beachside
Motel, N. Beach. St. Town.. .~ ..
Mr. James Allen was granted a renewal.'0f his Taxi permit.
A Mr. Mot'ton Zuker wrote' ~sking for a license for the o~eration
of a soda and hot dog mobile scooter operation and. same
was denied.
Mr.' Roger Young dba Mid-isi'and B owl.was granted .a renewal of
his bowling license, comm.- vict.'and soft drink licnesea.
Mr. Aibert Stackpole was granted.approval to operate a soft'
drink and hot dog stand at the Miacomet Raceway.
Wauwinet House Inc. and Naut. Yacht Club Inc. applied for re- -
'newals of their seasonal alsoholic.beverage~licenses and
same were voted to take the·course prescribed bY law.
The matter of the stop.sign at upper'main street was'discussed
and it was,voted to move the stop si~on Main street
replaced by a slow sign, and the stop sign relocated
so as to face South bound drivers coming into Main street
from Newslane. "
Voled to write the DPU and Rep.~Desrocher protesting the proJ
posal of Short Line busses to operate trips~about the ~
island.
