in the Selectmens Annual Meeting warrant calling for various
matters with reference to the stemaship authority~

congra~s. The Board was inaccord with these magnet and ~o~ed
to send a' letter supporting same.

Selectmens Meeting 25 Sept. 1963: · "'.i ':'
The meeting Came to order at 7.30 PM all members of the Board I
Warrants No. 39 totalling 13,495.06 and No. 40 totalling 18,292.~0;
were presented by Town Acct.' Barrett and checked and approved
by the Board.
Minute's of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Mr~ Melvi~ Ray of the 1st Nat. St0r~s Inc. was Present and
discussed with the Board the matter of the complaint of
Mr. Clifford Ryder as to'soot from the 1st Nat. incinerator
stated that they did not burn any material that would leave
an oily soot and that they had been most ~careful about
burning when the wind was in a quarter that would bother
the neighbors'. stated that he had offered to Mr. Ryder that
they would make arrangements to' only.burn between the hours
of 4PM to 6Pm but that Mr. Ryder would not agree stating
thai his wife had wash out at those times quite often.
The Board took' the whole matter under advisement for the
present.
Mr.~ C. George Anastos Esq. representing Mr. Cbs. Thomas Jr.
relative'to an application for.a seasonal all alcoholic
comm. vici. license to be exercised at Thomas Sea Foods '
.Union St. was present and presented to lhe Board a series
'of'letters from residents of.the area and others
~*hey were in favor.of *he Board granting the license.~The
Board was in receipt of.a'peiition from'olher residents
objecting lo the granting of same. Mr. Thomas addressed the
Board and advised thai i* was not his'intention ,o run a
night club but that he wanted lhe license to round out a
.restaurant operation he'was starting and thai he would
.~agree to close at whatever hour the board might see fit
al*er the regular dinner hour. ~: .~
Mr.' Roland Huyser a'resident in lhe area appeared personally
and noted his objeclion lo the Boards granting this license.
