' The meeting came to order at 8PM ha~ing been proceeded by a .~meeting as Mosquito Control Commissioners, all members :. of the Board being present. :'- Warrant'N0. 33.~otallin~ $40,237.69 wai presented by Town Acct. ,Barrett and checked and approved by the Board. Minutes of 't~e previous meeting were read and approved. Three young ladies were present and discussed with~the Board a complaint they had with reference to a deposit made and retained by the Overlook Hotel and were advised that this was a matter to take up with their travel agent or '' an Atty. : '' Pole locations for two Poles on Polpis Rd.'for the Gas and ~lec. and Tel and Tel were~approved notices having been sent the abutter and no objection being received. Notice was received of the DPW annual meeting to be held on .~ rri..23 Aug. at.10 AM. : ~'.'~, .~ A letter was received from the Nan*. Gas & ~lec..Co. advising -. that they had'completed the changeover fram 60~ to 100W bulbs in;town street lights as approved by th~'Board. A request was received from Mr. J. Loder of Comm, Wharf, and.from Harold Lindley at 4 Chimneys requesting shields on street lights and.the Board voted on motion'duly made and seconded that we would not approved any requests for shields on lights. A letter was received f~0m a Mr. Boyd Of Broadway Sconset questing.permission to place some posts in:a. short alley or street:in Sconset to prevent the ~arking,of cars. This was referred to the highway dept. for investigation and report. , '~ _An invltatio~-.~'~ec~ived from the Madaket A~h~'.ig attend their annual meeting on ~negday the 20th. A letter was received from the Airport.Comm, requesting'the Board to instruct.the Town Treasurer to borrow the necessary funds for a fed. state and town project (plane.parking apron) at the airport, and approved. Voted to'have a.meeting on Monday the 19that 8PM with the Town Bldg.Comm.,and the Finance Comm. to discuss new plans for the proposed.town and county office bldg. Ch. Killen advised that Rev. Bennett was working on getting a Navy Choir to perform'at Nant.'on ihe 2~th of Aug, and wanted to know.if they could get approval from the Libray to perform on the library steps if the Board w~uld have any objection to.blocking off lower pearl'St..This was approved subject.to Library approval Bids on work at Our Island home which were originally bid last. week and on which the two bidders Legg and Lawrence had ,.been requested to re-bid were received from only one bidder Mr. Seddon Legg Jr. who bid 1121.83 on Insulation and 1291.79 on windows, the Board tabled this matter for fur,hex discussion. The Board discussed the matter of parking about town and it was suggested that the lot opposite Dryshowl Cleaners was available and this was confirmedly telephone w. ith Mr. Co&em;
