The meeting came to order ~t 8.30 PM having
been preceeded by a
meeting as County Commissioners, all members of,the Board
."being Present_except Mr. Whelden. .
Warrant No. 32 totalling $20,345.21 was Presented by Town Acct.
Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Mr. ilbert Carter'~o~"..~he"State County' Probation'~ffice ~s present
and discussed with the Board the tenative newsalary schedule
set for Probation officers. Suggested that the Board~should
write our comments to the service on the proposals.
Mr.~'Halsey Kent'in b~half Of the sidewalk art show was present
and requested permission to have the sightseeing busses
park on federal'street during the days of the art show
namely Aug. 12L13~i4. and it was so voted.
Bids were received-on work at Our Island Home as follows:
Sheetrocking hall and ceiling of'south corrider, Douglas
B. Lawrence only bidder 1000.00 dollars work to be completed
in 90 days..Voted approved.
Cement Walk at S. end of Bldg. John Viera, only bidder 300.00
10 days, Voted approved.

Inasmuch as both-contractors had not com~l~ied with the
specificatio.ns Legg by inserting a condition of delivery of
materials on~hi~~60,day,guaranty and Lawrence by deleting the
penalty.clause;~ltogether, the Board voted to reject the bids
on both of these~items and request the respective bidders to
submit new bids' at our next meeting. ~.-~

Nat.'Store.advised t-hat.one,of his men had to go,,~o ~he Dr.
because of same; :Inasmuch as.the,.Board had previo~!ly written

Stores Inc",that,use of the incinerator must cease a~ once

A copy of a letter from the U~.'.~'0:ih~' chamber,0f.Comaer~e
relative to the visit of i practice~squardron of three ships
was received and'-filed. Date of visit being Aug. 24 and 2Sth.
Henry' B.-Coleman'was.'g~anted a renewal of his-Auctioneers license.
A letter was ,received 'from the Nantucket Island P~0d.',.'Co]' Inc.
advising'of, a.change of Mgr.'from Jean T..Lesk~ to Robert R.

There being no further business the Board went into executive
session and adj. at 9.50 PM.
