Barrett and checked and approved by the Board. Minutes of the previous meeting Were read and approved. An application from the N.B.Tel and Tel for'ins~ali~tion of buried cable from the Milestone area to Monomoy was received and voted approved. An application ior'joint pole locations on Cliff Rd. and Derrymor, Road was received and notices voted to be sent. A letter.was recieved from the Tree Commission advising that they had voted to request the Board to take whatever action was necessary to put the duties of the'insect pest contgrol officer under the Tree Commission, Voted to refer this ,. matter to Rep. Desrocher for attention. A letter was received from Arthur Quinn.commending the fast action of the Nant. Police,dept. and the Hospital in getting him to the Hosp. during his recent illness. Mr..Allen Hoid~a~e, Harbor MaSter~'was pre~ent'dnd conferred with. the Board relative'to contacting .the Army Eng. to see if we could have an area'of the Eastern Ietty left open so that small boats could go through without traversing the mouth of the Jetty.,voted to contact the Eng, on this. A lett~~ was received fk0ma'Mrs R~°t'of ~ias~'onset requesting that.some ruts'in Linden street be filled in, and voted 'referred to the Highway dept eeds i chen in b half'of'the'M sic l Aris Society was ., granted a permit to have a banner over main street at · various[times during the summer in connection with various ,programs being~bonducted for the benefit of the Nant. A:.report was received from Miss A. Cravott Town nurse on the recent polio~clinics and the chest X ray clinic and ~iled. A letter was received f~om bits i~ving Stanley relative to the houss of,closing at the Eagle and Key and asking if she :" could discuss smae with us. Voted to advise that she could ~ discuss this matter at any meeting. Mr.' David Rice - dba Th%;Sandpig~r,~ Main St. was gr'anted a renewal of his Comm. Vict.'milk and recorded music licenses, with a 1.30 AM closing,the same as Arno's Del. ReSt. -30 Acres requested a renewal of tis license for music and dancing on weekdays, and alos requested alic. for dancing on Sund%ys, the week day license was approved but the Board Voted not to approve a license for dancing on Sundays. A letter from the Country Store requesting that an area in front of said store on Old N. Wharf St. be marked one hour parking was received and Voted approved. Salvas and John Gebo Sr. ~.~ ~ It was voted'that the Secy be authorized to issue taxi license renewals without bringing them up at a meeting. Any new applications however to be passed upon by the whole Board. A letter was received from '~he Airport 'Comm. advising that they were in accord with the granting of an alcoholic beverage license to the Airport Snack Bar if the Board should a same. ~,. ,~. V°i'ed.to write a letter to %he ABCC asking whether such a license'could be held by the Airport Commission and operations under it leased to the concessionaire. Voted to have our next weeks meeting'on T~es ~raiher than on Wed. ,. ~, ~. There being no. further business the Board went .into executive session and adj. at 10.30 PM. James K.' Glidden, Secy. .The application Of blary Roberts 'for admission to Our Island Home was voted approved. Voted to write the DPW relative to a wash out on Cliff Rd. Voted to request the insect ~eSt control 6fficer to provide -us .with an outline of his pro~ram of expending .the money ~appropriated for insect pest control, and to also give us a list of request he has had for spraying for ticks fromfprivate sources V0%ed t6 request the tr'ee comm. tO do some pruning of the trees in the library yard.
