The meeting came to 'order at 8PM all members of .th~ Board
being present, having been preceeded by the regular
.monthly meeting as Mosquito Control Commission.
Warrant No~ 23 ~otalling~$52~347.77 was presented by Town Acct.
Barrett and checked and approved by the Board..
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The matter of the spar buoy Voted to be erected off St. wharf
was reported by the 'Harbor Master as being impossible to
place .due to rocks etc. on the bottom,:it was decided if
it was not~posslble to place said spar further out that
we have a barrell with pipe moored at this location.
The Board ,net With Mr. and Mrs Rock wh6 ~0pe~rate ~the lunch
concession at the airport and discussed the matter of
their proposal to have a'liquor'license issued to-them
for this operation, various facets of this matter were
gone over and the Board~took same under advisement.
A request of Mr. Rock to 'have a yelloW'line painted'across the
"entrance of Folgers Court in Sconset was approved he
reporting that cars not knowing it' was a Way parked there.
Mr. John Walsh was granted~a renewal 'of 'his Junk De{ers license.
A letter was recieved from the Town'Counsel'requesting that
the Board make available to him the ,necessary.funds as
voted by the Town. for the purchase of the ~intere~t of the
Murray Est, in the cre~ks area, ~same having been approved
by the land court.
Rep. Desrocher forward a cert~.copy o~f the bill authorizing
the town upon vote of an annual town meeting to take or
purchase the Water Co. and it was voted to weite the Co.
and request that a meeting be set to discosss this matter.
The following licenses and permits were approved: Chicken Nest
Common Vict. soft drink and ice cream; Harbor House Ent.
~license piano and gutter; Chicken Box Rest. 'Juke box and
instrumental music; The Skipper,~ Common Vict. Walter J.
Glowacki Junk Dealer; Auctioneer and Soft.drink. Taxi.
permits, Arthur Tunning and Gilbert and Carol Nickerson.
A lett'er"was received~f~om'the' DeputY"of Health~'State adviSing
that no license would be necessary in connection with the
spraying ~ of Long Pond cattails.~
[lpon request 'of Chief Howes,James E. Nelson was appointed a Sp.
Police for night watchman duty at .~the %~hite. Elephant.
Voted to have the bell tolled on the 4th of'July from 2 ~o£4
There being no further buSinesS the Board went into executive
session and adj. at 10 PM.
