Minutes of the previous, meeting were read and approved.
~r. John BeamiSh'jr.~e~/~r. Arthur Davis of the Local C. D.
was present,and advised the Board ~hat'~here was available
a jeep vehicle year 1952 a~ ~he Naval Facility which was
being declared surplus and could'be acquired by the Town
for a rescue vehicle for aprox. 39.00. Mr. Beamish advised
that .it would cost ~be~ween 150 and 200 dollars ,to f~x this
vehicle up. The Board discussed.this mat~er atsome length
-and later in ~he meeting decided tha~ ~h~s vehicle would not
be suitable fo~,the purpose'we needed and voted no~ to attemp'
" ~0 acquire same.
A letter was ~eceived from a Samuel L.~Fein realative to a curbin~
and sigp at his property on Lily S~. and referred to the
Highwa~y dept.' ....... ,
A lette~ was ~eceived f~0m mr'. ~.j°~g~h' Indio requesting a side-
walk and curb in fron~ of the Town Crier proper~y on Lil~
Mr. Indio s~ating ~h~t he would de~ire brick and would p~y
half of the~cost of same. ~is matter was tabled fo~ further
determination of~ funds and curbing
The legion aux. was granted permission foz a poppy da~ on 24 May.
~. James ~. Worth applied for a: Junk Dealers Lic. "and
Ba~ett~advlsed that i~ was his understanding that'he wanted
,:this so that he could transpor~misc, small items of junk
on his boa* to N.Bedford and.sell same and that he was not
going in~o the general junk business. On ~his b~sis it was
voted ~o approve said license..~=~:
The following taxi l~cense renewals were approved: Garrett Huyser

resignation from the Sewer Commission under,the new conflict
of interest statu~e, voted accepted and a letter sent to Mr.
Allens Lobster grill'Was granted approval of a license fo~'~ecord,
musci 0n Sunda~s at'Lower Main St. To~. '

for consideration to.the airport Co~,m; and.placed on file.
An application ~as received-from ~m. ~Bukke dba The Pines Inc.
at Fairgrounds ~d.'for the t~ansfer of,the seasonal'all
alcoholic license held at said premises to one ~ohn Kimmett
and voted to take the course preseribed by law.
A letter was received fr~m TownCounsel Sanguinettik suggesting
that Mrs Eleanor Coffin an employee of,the Siasconset
Commissioncould be classified as a Special Town Emplyoyee
. and also'the same as ~egards the Rights of ~ay Committee unde=
6~the'Conflict of interest law and on motion duly m~ and
seconded it was so voted. , ,

by the monthly meeting as Mosquito Control Comm.

Barrett and checked and approved pM.the Board.
Minutes of the previous'meeting'wek~:re~d and approved.
Mr'.' Arthur Davis. Dep. civilian Defense Dir. was present with
Mrs Lawrence Mooney and presented to Mrs Mooney a certificate
for having completed a course in Civilian Defense emergency
training. The Board extended their congratulations to Mrs
Mooney personally.
Cmdr. J. MacAvenia of the Naval Facility was granted permission
to hold a'dance at'Legion Hall on 29 June'in behalf of the
Navy Relief Soci~tyd-
A letter was received from Mr ' Cbs. Minnich Supt.",of Schools
requesting a street light near the entrance.to the High
School,parking area. As this matter had been previously before
the Board it was voted to *abel this matter,until we had
made a survey of the situation':It was the feeling of the
Board that what was desired could better and more cheaply be
accomplished by the inmtallation of a flood light at this
'area on the school grounds which could be turned on and off
as needed ....
A letter was received from Mr.' Devine'of the Boston Mutual Ins.
Co. confirming out meeting of last week and filed.
A letter was received from Austin Tyrer and John H.' Bartlett
Jr. Sewer Commissioners advising that a vacancy existed in
said Commission due to the resignation of Mr.~ Wi~Marland
Rounsvilleland requesting a joint meeting to,elect another
member. It was'voted to set the date for said meeting on
Wed. next 15 May at 7.45 PM.' .....
An appliction was received from Wallace Deacon Submitting his
name for the vacancy in the Sewer Commission and filed.
A letter was received from Mr.:Stephen Herlitz:relative to his
troubles with Madaket Land and advising that he would not
: permit'the'public to park on his land,at the Braod CreeM area.
This letter was filed, with the comment by.thelBoard that if'
~he.desired to keep the public off his:said'land he had better
fence .~ it ..... ; .... -
Mrs. Bertha Oneil was granted a'renewal~of her taxi license.
Mrs.Manuel Corera dba Snack ShOp lower orange. St.'was granted a
renewal of her common vict.'license,
Bayberry Inn and Jared'Coffin' House were granted Innholders lic.
It was ~oted to advertise,for bids,on Articles,~108 and 48 which
concern'a board walk at sconset-and'a set of steps at Pocomo.
bids to be in by next meeting.
Mr. Henry Garnett met Wiih the Board and discussed the matter
of,veterans graves and other cemetery care problems.
