HomeMy WebLinkAbout1963-04-03Selectmens Meeting 3 April'1963 The meeting came to order at ~'~5 PM having been preceeded by a county commissioners meeting. Warrant NO. 13 totalling $10,66~.04 was presented by Town Acct. Barrett and checked and' approved by the Board. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. supt. of streets Jaeckl~ was presen% and went over with the Board the specifications for the various road bids for 1963 and it was voted to send same to the local contractors same to be in the hands of the Board by next meeting. The matter of.~no article~'covering repairs to the fence at middle'gulley rd. Sconset Art-" 104 was referred to the Supt. of streets.for attention. On recommendation of the Supt. it was voted to have a Stop sign erected on Shell~St. at,the corner of New in Sconset to face South Bond-drivers on Shell street. · A letter was received fr'om ~rnest Lema Sr. protesting the use of the scraper on the Broad Creek area roads, discussed and filed. Various letters of thanks for appointments were received and filed. Mr. Blwyn Francis Was re-appointed as a shellfish Constable. A 'notice was ~ received from the Town Treasurer advising that the madaket lots would be'sold at public auction on 26 April 1963, as voted by the Town meeting. Voted to meet at the Town clerks Office 'at 9AN! on tomorrow Thurs. to draw grand and travers jurers for the ,Sup. Court~ A notice was re'celled from the planning Board advising of their meetings and organizationsl set up and filed. ~,lrs Jessie Murphy dba Murphys was granted a r'eneWal of her soft drink license at Siasconset. b~r. Har'old Lindley dba 4 Chimneys~and Ships inn was granted renewal of his, innholdrs licenses at said premises. A request of ~the Public Relations Committee for 10 minute parkin in front of its office was approved. Kat~'erine ¥. Terry ~Pplied for aPp°intme~f to the Public. Realtion ~ Committee and Frank Hardy advised that he would be willing to continu~ to serve and both were appointed to said commit' Only One bid was received for the furnishing of a Jeep crusser for the PoliCe Dept. that from Albert'L. Silva Inc. in the total amount of $2355.44 and same was voted approved.' A letter was received from Dick Williams relative to the, protests received on his suggestion of a mo2or scooter agency on Vestal St. and read and filed. Joseph Perry et al dba 30 acres applied' for a renewal of their alcoholic beverage license and same was voted to take the course prescribed by law. ~r. Clarence Swift was granted a renewal of his auctioneers lic. There being no further business the Board went into executive ~C~ session and adj. at 10.30 P~! jmmes K. Glidden, Secy.
