The meeting;came to Order at 7.30 PM all members'of the Board
being present'except Mr. Chadwick ~,
Minutes of~%he previous meeting were read and approved.
Warrant No'~ll tota'iling $24,373;$2 was presented by Town Acct.
Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
The matter of the applicati0n'6f Mr.'Leo Davis for aPeddlers
license was before the Board, Mr. Davis being present
with ~. Manville the latter stating that,he was not
going to be using the~license to peddle that the Board
had previously granted him. The Board discussed this,
matter later in executive session and voted not to approve
this license. ~'
Mr. Arthur Davis; acting local Civil Defenme Dir. was.present
and requested that the Board try and find.a Dir; for this
post as soon as possible.~
Mr. Rollin Manville, Mr. Thomas Lar~abee and Franklin Chadwick
'andAbbott Johnson of the Sportsmans club were~present and'
discussed with the Board the matter of implementing the.
article for the~eradication of weeMs in Long Pond. It was
voted to write the State Insectide Board for information
on the chemical'(Dowpon) that'is proposed'to be used.
Applications for.renewal~of liquOr licenses ~ere"received'from
the following and voted to take the course prescribed by
law: Opera House Inc. Hilda'Alle,;'Chris Schell dba Boat
House; Wm.~'John Inc. dba The pines; Wf. Beinecke'dba The
White Blephant; Nant. Yacht'Club Inc.; Siasconset Book
Store Inc.; Frank A. Burr dba The Ropewalk and Travi~ L.
Harris dba Harbour House.
A letter was received from Blwyn Francis Sr. Shellfish warden
thanking the Board for its support in re:.the complaints
made by Nestor Richards for the Fishermens~Asso. and filed.
A letter was received from a ~S William Sawyer relative to
the tearing down of the Sanford House and filed.
Richard V. Williams of Vestal St. wrote inqUiring about the
regualtions governing his having a sales agency for
motor scooters at his Vestal St. property.~The Board felt
that while no permit was necessary locally that this type.
of operation would be inappropriate for this location and
voted to so advise Mr. Williams %_
A letter from Mrs~Jos. Cahoon r'elative t° Squam Road was voted
forwarded to the Supt..~of streets. ,~'/,~.,
Luther'and JesSie'~ernald Were'granted'reneW~l~ of ~their
Innholders,license at The India House. -,~_
Mr. Oscar ceeley Sr. Was granted a taxi permit~
The Board approved the same regu alt ions fOr taxi permits as
in use last year. '~
An invitation was received from the Legion'to attend a supper
next Wed. at 6.30 PM and it was voted to hold our regu~r
meeting at 8PM rather than 7.30 on this date.
There being no further business the Board went~into executive
session and adj. at 10 PM
