The meeting came to order at 7.~5 PM having been preceed by a
County Commissioners Meeting, all members of the Board being
present except Mr.'Desrocher.
Warrant No. 5, total'~ing $16,165.72 was presented by Town Acct.
Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
Minutes of the previous meeting 'were read and approved.
Mr. W. Ripley Nelson' ,'nd Mr. 'Albert L. 'Silva were present and
conferred with the Board relative to the establishment of
a conservation Commission and left with the Board various-
data as regards this matter. :
Mr.,Nelson for the Civic League outlined'the proposal of the
Civic League to turn over to the Town the Mill Hill Park
which the town will vote on at its annual town meeting.
Mr. Leonard E. Godfrey was present and presented a letter of app-
lication for appointment to the Conservation Commission if
same is approved by the Town. Same was received and placed
on file.
A form notice was received from the State Civil Service Comm.
advising that they would set up an examination for police
entrance and advise us of the date.
Mr. Albert P. Johnsen Jr. was granted a renewal of his permit
to transport garbage. .
Mr. Anthony Docca w~s granted_a renewal of his Common Vict. lic.-
M0rin and Son were granted a permit-to move a bldg', from'the Drake
prop. to a location near the Admirality. Club at Madaket.
Sen. Allan Jones sent the Board various~bills relative to the
Steamship authority requesting our views on same. It was Voted
to ask Mr. Berna our member of the authority to meet with us
to discuss same.
A letter from the firm of'John R, Hellman of'Palmou%h Architects
asking to be listed as interested in any town projects was
received and.placed on file.
The resignation of Mr. Cbs. Annie as local Civilian Defense Dir.
was received due to ill health,~ accepted with regrets and the
Board~voted to send a letter to Mr. Annie thanking him for
his services in this post.
A letter was received from th$ Tree Comm. submitting the names
of Ralph Marble and Howard Jelleme for appointment to this
Commission to fill" the existing vacancies therein and on motio
made and seconded it was voted to appoint Mr. Marble and Mr.
Jelleme to this Commission.
A lekter'from Mr~ Kenyon asking~that the Boy Scouts.bi'given per-
misgion to sit with the various town depts on Local Gov. Day
on 18 feb. was received and approved. . .... .
A letter was ~eceived from Rep. Desrocher adgising gf th~ progress
of the bills relative to Madaket and Polpis and filed.
The Board approved a sketch sumitt%d by the lng. and Mirror for
the cover of the Town Report.
,Voted to ask the Town Counsel for an opinion as to Who we could
classify as Special Municipal employees under the new conflict
of interest law.

~Simmons, 5g~was voged ~o appoin~men~ Mr. ,Simmons
position and so advise ghe Civil Service Commis&ion,
There being no,further bUsineSs it was on mo~ion duly made and
seconded voged to adjourn.
