HomeMy WebLinkAbout1963-01-16 Selectmens Meeting 16 Jan. 1963 The meeting came to order at 7.30 PM all members or.the Board being present except Mr. Desrocher. Warrant No. 2 totalling 8,604.10 was presented by Town Acct. Barrett and checked and approved by the Board. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and apProved. Town 'Counsel sanguinetti was present and 'conferred with the Board relative to an article for the Warrant prohibiting 'trailers on the Island. A notice was received from theDirec~or 0f~Accounts that ~the amount of free cash as certified by his office was 115,$89.50 'A letter was received from the Chamber of Commerce relative to work they have been doing on freight.rates and requesting that we set up a joint meeting with.the fisance committee before the towm meeting to discuss.this matter. The Board ~felt we should do this but set no date for a meeting at this time, ...... " ' ri A letter was received from Rep'. Desrocher advising that he had checked at the state level and was advised that no funds .were available for a Town Hall. A letter was received from Senator Saltonstall advisi§g that he had requested the Dir. of Community Facilities in N.Y. to communicate with us rel- ative to the availability of Federal Funds. A request was'received from the Airport Comm. relative to a letter to the FAA advising that an article would be inserted in.the 1964 warrant for items on the planning program of the airport and so voted. Mrs Adshead was granted a renewal gf her license for a kindergart at Bennett Hall. There!,~being no further business the Board went into executive session and adj. at 8.45 PM. ~xecutive Session: The,application of Mrs Al.Fee for admission of Mrs Turner to Our Island Home on a paying basis was approved on a ~rial basis. The 'application of Mrs Phillip Holmes for admission to Our Island Home on a~pyaing basis waA approved. -
