~The meeting came to order ~t,7.30~PM all'members ~of the Board
being,present except Mr.' Pease. .- ~ ,
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Warrant ~No. ~48, totalling $41,410.24 was' ~e~ent~d by Town Acct.
Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
Mr. George Jones was present and discussed with the Board the
matter of an application of Walter Beinecke Jr. through
~' the DPWcto erect a new bulkhead at the white elephant hotel
proper~y. The Board examined the plans an~ discussed this
matter with'Mr. Jones and had no objection to same.
Mr. John Ga~pie, wire insp. was pr'eSent and ~eported to the Board
on his attendance at the conf. of wire insp.~at Boston.
Application of the Islander Inc.'for a renewal of its wine and
malt lic. was received and voted to,take the course presr
" cribed by law. ~'
Morin and Son was granted a permit to move a Small bldg. of a
trailer from the Broad Creek area in Madaket to the prop.
of Ralph Bartlett on Hither Creek.
The Board signed the official,certification of the reCount for
Gov.'as.presented by the Registrars of,Voters.
The Sportsmans Club was granted a per'mit it6' have a Running Deer~
Shoot, so called at the Town Prop. at Dioness.
A complaint'~Was received from-Gilbert Burchell. Jr. and Hen£y carl
with reference to a proposed use~of land near their prop.
by the firemens,Asso, and it was voted to ask the Chief of
the Fire. Dept.,to meet with us next week to explain just
what was proposed. ,,
There being:no further business the Board went'into executive
session and ad3. at 9 PM.

The Board d~scumsed a letter from A.,:Prest°n Manchester
"requesting consideration of the issuance,to him of a Wine and
Malt Club'license.so'that he-could keep the Bosun's Locker.open
all year.'The Board felt that inasmuch as'this would not be
true club in the'legal sense~of the word that we shuould not
embark on such a ~olicy and that club licenses should only be
issued to places Sthat are true clubs ..... '~
