Minutes of the previous meeting w~re read and apP~0ved. Mr. chG. Annis c. D. Dire. was present' and reported on meeting at,CD.headquarters on M~gday'and reported that the school evacuation plan had been approved and that same was awaiting activation, by memo from the Sup.~. to the respective teachers S~a~ed tha~ 'he had de'fermi'ned some information on' the Alarm system from Gamewlll a~d~, that it ~as .estimated that-the . total cost for three Units would be aprox.1800 to 2000 dollars. It was felt that ~his would have to be an article in the warrant and that i% should be determined if any matching funds were availabe for same. On recommendation of Chief Howes the-follow~ng.were appointed as Sp. Police for the specific duties set out: John Santos Jr.;~Augustus Roche; Robert Lema and Cbs. Stackpole Jr. at Basketball Games at Highschool; Hugh MacVlcar for set. ag .the Ham property during Dee~ l.,leek. Bids were "~eceived on work at our' Island Home as follows: , Douglas B. Lawrence. 2940.00 Seddon Legg Jr. 2993.76 as ..~hese bids were within the money available it was voted 'that~same be awarded to. Dougls Lawrence the. lowest bidder. A lettesr was received from the Chilmark' Board'~f Selectmen, thanking the' Board and the Shellfish Warden for allowing the diversion of some of our seed Quahog order to their Mr. John M~Laughlin Jr. was present and comment~ on the Conditic of the Flag on the~authority.vessell, and the Board stated they would check with Mr. Berna on this. The Theatere workshop was granted'a permit'to erect a banner' on Main St. subject to approval of the Tree Comm. The Sportsmans Club was granted'pemission for a Turkey Shoot at premises off Fairgrounds road on this Sunday. Voted to ask the Supt. of streets'as to the matter of placing sandbags.at the childrens beach and the Francis St. beach ..to prevent flooding. Voted to approve~ a street light on Delaney Road 0n pole ~4. There being no further business the Board Wen~ into :executive session and adj. at 9.30 james r. Glidden, Secy.
