The meeting came to order at 8PM all members of the'Board being
Warrant No. 31 totalling $22,457.91 was presented ,bM ,Town Acct,
Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.~
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Bids on one Gonsett G-14 CB radio for the Civilian Defense were
opened as follows:.Barl Lowell 158.20; Murphy 162.84 Voted
that same be awarded the lowest bidder Earl Lowell.
Mr. Halsey Kent,' Ch. of the sideWall'art show to..be held on
Aug. 13-14-~ was present and requested if the Board could
have the sightseeing busses park on the,corner of Federal
St.'during these days,and it was so voted.
St. Wahaf Theatre was granted a permit for Folk singing in the
Theatre on Sundays Aug. 12 26th and ~ept 2nd
Contracts for Ch~. 90 Maintenance were-received from the DPW and signed by.the Board.
Mr. Blwyn Francis Sr. was r'e-appointed as a Shellfish Constable.
On recommendation' of C~ief, Howes'it was voted to have a stop
sign erected on L.,Washington St. to face N.'bound drivers
on lower Washington St. at the corner of Francis.
On recommendatiOn of Chief Howe$ the following Were appointed
Sp. Police: K. Thompson and R. Levine.at the Kenneth Taylor
Gallery and Daniel J. Haynes, at 30 acres and additional
places he to advise of .the specific spots he will serve~at.
The Board was in receipt Of a telegram from Rep. John McCormack
advising of the action of the CAB in appropriating funds
for the Federal share of a project'to enlarge-the aircraft'
parEing apron at the airport, and voted'referred to the~
~airport Comm.
Letters were received from'variOus Madaket Residents and Mary
L.'Dlllon, Kathleen O~Donoghue and Florabel Stevens were
present with complaints as regards the fact that a trash
barrell at the end of the Madaket Road had not.been emptied
slnce it was placed. The Board advised that same~had been
taken'care of this date by the Hlghwasy Dept.'and that we
would consult the Park and Rec.-Comm. to 'have this matter
taken care of regularil~. They also requested a'slo w or
slow children sign in the vicinity of the Penguin Rest.~
on the Madaket. Rd. and same was approved.
There'being no further b~sineSs the Board went ~nto executive
session add adj. at 9. PM.
