Minutes of the previous meeting were read and appro,ved. Mr. Joseph Viera was,present and requested that the slow signs on W. Dover street be relocated so that they would be more visable and same was voted referred to the highway dept. Mr. Tell Berna of the S~eamship AUthority was present and dis- cussed with the Board the contents of a letter he was sending for the Steamship Autho. to Cong. Hastings Kei~h' relative to additional dredging and widening of the channel and the,matter.of a breakwater in the harbor, and requestin ,that funds be appropriated for an Eng. study on same. It was voted.to, concurr with his,thoughts and to write ,Cong. Keith and Sen. Saltonstall on same. ~. Mr. Casmiro Caton was present and discussed with the Board the matter of a flag pole at the circle at the head of Main street, a letter from H. Erroll Coffin giving the correct size and diam.~of'same was on record and Mr. Caren was granted approval for same to conform to the specifications suggested by Mr. Coffin. Voted to write.Mr. Coffin our thanks for-advising us on th~ matter and to, rdquest the Supt. of streets,to re.locate " the signs,which are now in this area. Mr. Manuel Dias was present and requested permission to have a twist session for minors from 7 to p on Monday and Thurs. evenings at his place of business on Surfside Rd. the bar to be closed during this period. Same was voted approved. Pole locations on O~ange St. and Harbor View way were Voted approved.. A letter was received from Mr. Irving Stanley of the Personnell Board submitting his resignation from same and giving as his.reasons failure to read letters, or if read.that they were censored, and failure to receive a reply,,to.a letter.sent. Secy. Glidded acknowledged that one'letter on the matter-of the Boards action on the approval given by the,personnell board on the matter of extra pay for two personnell,of the highway~ dept. had not been formally acknowledged but that Mr. Stanley had been advised of the action taken. The Board voted to write Mr. Stanley. asking him to stipulate what letters send by the personnell board had not been read or had been censored. The matter of an entertainment lic. for the Bate aand Key.on center St. to cover folk singing was discussed and approved closing hour for singing llPM no group singing. Mr. Pease asked to be recorded as opposed and was so noted.',.,~ Sea Cliff Inn was granted a renewal of its sunday ent. lie. for recorded music. A letter was received relative to a state sponsered meeting on traffid to be held at Falmouth and filed. .~ Painting of driveways'at the property of Mrs Elder on Main St. and the Thrift Shop on India St. and the extending of the ~t white lines on the cross walks on Main street were approved
