Warrant No. 26, totalling $16,781.23 was presented by Town Acct~ Barrett and checked and approved by the Board. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Mr. Halsey rent was Present and discuSse'd With the Bo~rd arrange- merits for the use of the Sanford House grouds for the Sidewalk art show in Aug. and same was approved by the Boar The following licenses and permits were appr6ved: Eugene Viera, taxi permit; Thomas McGrath Junk Dealers Lic, Navy Wives, permit to sell tickets on Main St.; Skipper, Innholders license; Morgan Levine dba The Four .Winds, reco: .Background music weekdays only; The Pines recorded music ar .Piano; Nobadeer recorded music and orchestra; Sconset Inn Recorded music; Capn Tobeys Piano ent. sundays; Boat House 'Rest. Piano entertainment. A letter was received from a Mr. Morris Creditor suggesting that parking areas be marked on the cobbles on Main street, but inasmuch as this had been tried on numberous occasions and had not worked out very well no action was taken on this matter. ISalnd Set. Co. iwas granted approval of a ten min. parking area in front of their office Whale street. Voted to approve the transfer Of a slow Ch~idren sign from Quaker Road to Prospect street; ..... The matter o~ 'the Cover on a water cistern on lOWer main street.~~ was referred to the Highway dept. for attention. Voted to have signs erected at the Broad creek area of madaket .warning of,the dangerous current.and ales same,near the old C.G.~Boat house at madaket, also, to have the various signs and,life rings posted at the,various beach areas, all of,these,matters being under the jurisdiction of the park'~and recreation commission. ~ The matter of a parking area at,Broad creek was discussed~and referred to the Supt.~of streets for attention. Voted to have signs erected at lower Main street, stating No. Loitering, per order Board of Selectmen. - ..... ~-. The matter of.having the ban~ stand now erected on'Sundays'on' Main street moved to the Sanford House grounds and the, ,bank concerts held their was discussed and voted referred to the Pk and Recreation Commission.
