'- warran't NO.' 24, t0~alling'$38,~53~86 'w~s'~p~'esent~d by Town ACC~. Barrett and checked amd approved .by the Board. . Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved/. Mr. Rollin Manville in'behalf of the Nant. sP0rtsmans'Club was present and requested permission for the.club to conduct an experiment in the~eradication of'cat and nine tails in long pond and Hummock pond in three selected locations, sa~e was voted approved. Mr. Donadl Boyd was present and requested a common vict. soft' drink and ice cream license at Suzies Snack Shpp on St. Waharf. same was voted approved subject to'inspection. Wilfred Rock (airpOrt. sncak bar) and'Anna C orreia , LoWer Orange St. requested common vict-licenses and same were also approved subject to inspection when ready. Mr. ~. Preston Manchester applied for .permit to hang a sign over the street at the Upper Deck Ossuns locker on Main St. same having been approved as to form by the HDC and same was voted approvedf' ' Mr. Willie House dba Chicken Box rest was granted a rsnewal of his juke box license. ,,~ : ~ · ...... A letter was received from Rd."C.~St0ne 'advising that he would try to determine some word for-us on the matter of the Madaket Hither Creek project , The following licenses and permits were approved Allens Lobster Grill, recorded music; Taxi permits,'John B. Salvas, Irvin F.' Holdgate; Charles E. Davis and.Frank B. Psaradellis.; Arno's Del Rest. Common Vict.~.license; Wauwine' House.Inc. Innholders, Ent. lic. for music and dancing; The Breakers, .Innholders license; Navy Relief, permit for dance at legion hall on 16 June. A letter Was received fro~ Walter. Glowacki advising that.his plant would be'in operation weather permitting this date. The following were.appointed public weighers. Walter F. Glowacki, Walter J. Glowacki, Mary Ann Egan and Roy ~gan. On request of chief Ho~ms~ihe following were'appointed Sp..Police Hazel Sandsbury, Jetties Beach; Pranklin S. Chadwick, St. Whf. Seddon Legg Sr. Airport; John Alden, Wauwinet House,' Prank Kni~ kern and James P. }lastings, Dreamland Theatre and Paul Dorsam, Chs Handy and Thomas O'Connell for service With the Nant. Police A notice was received from the DPW of the application of Crosby for permit to maintin a bulkhead in Nant. Harbor and the Board having no objection same was filed. Cheil of Fire Dept. Page~ 2. ~ Chief-Howes advised that'sgt.~Chadwick would be ending~his service with.the Dept. on Friday and it was_voted to send him a letter of~thanks for,his service from the Board. Chief Howes, Chief~Bartlett and Supt. of stsi'Jaeckle~ ~eported that,they concurred in.the suggestion of~removing~the~fence on Broad street,~between the Sanford House and the Info. Bure~ installing benches~and lights and making same a small park where people could gather. It was voted to have.the fence. removed and l{ghts installed. Voted to' open the Comfort s~ati0ns for,the season on the lSth. Voted ~hat~ all.cabs must ~t~,'at~the,cab stand ~n Federal'St 'and not park on.the~other side of the street,~also~that'-:u operators should stand beside the vehicle when,soliciting. Voted to relocate the"s~opsign at W. Chester and N. Liberty that it does not obstruct the sidewalk, and also to erect a slow children sign on Li~dberg Ave. Sconset.
