The meeting' came to order'at 8.00 PM having been prec~eded, by
county Commissioners meeting, all members of the Board being
present except Mr Pease' . ~ .
Warrant No. i8, totaliing'$20,4~8.18 wes 'presented by Town Acct.
Barrett and checked and approved by .the Board..
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Mr. Nestor Richards was present and presented his resignation as
Harbor Master, advising that he had obtained a year Found
job.,'he also discuss4d with the Board the make up of a .?
buoy for use at the Braod Creed area.
Applications were received for .the position of HarbOr. Master
~rom Charles Davis,~ Allan Royal and Allan Holdgate, the
board in executive session appointed Mr. Holdgate to this
': position.
Mr. Gerald Stanley was.granted'per~issi°u ~o hold a benefit dance
'at 30 acres for Mr. ~nd Mrs Duarte. on 5 May ~rom 9 t0,12.
Chief Bartlett was present t0 discuss ~th~ bids on misc. equipment
for~the. Fire Dept., a~ter discussion this matter was tabled
until we had obtained samples of the two coats bid on.
A letter was received from J.'Bu~ler Fo~g~-~'Jr. relative to a
dump.at hls land in Surf side and filed.
Mr.' C. Roliin:~{anville was granted a pe~l~rs license,. %he purpos~
being to sell fish ,from a truck during the off season when'
the local markets are not open. / ~ ...... ~ ., .
Mrs Marion Cha~e'was granted a'Co~. Vict~lic at St. W~arf Snack
bar. ~. ~ . . .....
Upper Deck Was'granied a recorded mUSiC and paino ent. license
for weekdays and Sundasy ......
Dreamland Theatre"inc' was granted a ~per~it t0~ show S0und~moti0n
.pictures~on Sundays.from 17 June thrum9 Setp.
Mr. Chs. Beave~son was granted a renewal '0~ his Caddy camp~ lic.
APplications were ~eceived for a transfe~ of~,alcoholic~beverage
license from Wm.'and Ma~y Burke to Wmi'John Inc. a corp...
owned by ,the said Wm. Burke and voted to take-the 'course
p~escribed by law. -' ~.::-' ...... '
~auwinet House Inc. 'applied fo~ a ~ene~al o'f'th~ license
previously held by Robert S.' Backus and it,was'voted that
this application also take the course .prescribed.by law.
The Board signed contracts for the maintenance of.the State Highw~
for the ensuing six months :

The meeting came,to order at 7.30 PM all members of the Board

Warrant No. tota'lling $$2,542.78 was presented by Town-Acct.~
.barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and aPproVed.
Bids on painting of the exterior trim of Our Island Home'were
received from only one bidder, Mr. Douglas B. Lawrence in
the amount of $1a30.00
Mr. Lawrence was also the only bidder on Arti¢le.102~'bid $600..00
Art. 32: bid 90.00 and Art. 35:190.00
On motion made and seconded it'was voted to accept Mr. LaWrer
bids on all. these items.
The Board met with the Pire Chief and'examined samPles of the
two canvas coats submitted for.comparisOn and after discussior
voted to award the bid on equipment and co,ts to the Cbs.
Clougherty Co. for the amount of $1232.40.
Chief Bartlett was authorized to attend fire School in New Haven
with a man from the Airport and one from the Dept.
Mr. Allan Holdgate Harbor Master was present and went over with
the Board specifications for painting and setting and providi
of various buoys in the Madaket Area and it~was voted to
· advertise these~itmms for bids to be returnable next week.
Mr. Jaeckle Supt.'of Streets advised on the telephone that he
had received a bid via telephone from Dick Lindgren dba
R & J White Lines~in~the matter of the center lineing
follows: Solid lin per mile $211.20 Broken White line 155.40
per mile. This matter was tabled for further discussion with
the Supt. '~'
Only' one bid was received for the Baker Snow plow for the Highway
dept. and that from Dyer Sales, in the amount of $1075.00
truck to be'delivered to their Cambridge-~lant for installat
Mr. Chs Handy'and Mr Jeremiah Towhill were g~anted renewals
their taxi licenses. '.'
Mr. Robert Leske'dba'Capn Tobeys was'granted a Permit for recorde
music and piano at said place of business, week days only..
Overlook' granted
Hotel was a renewal o£ .its Innholders Lic.
