The meeting came.to order at.? 30 pM all members'of the Board
being present' .-" ~ - .
Warrant No. 16, totalling $25,956.*43.was presented by ToWn Acct. Barrett and'checked and~approved bY.the Board.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The'Board approved and~signed'a new lease for use 'of 'the Legion
Bldg. for town election and other uses and also for use
of.the VFW as quarters. "
Mr. Rollin Manville was present and presented an application
for a peddlers license,'the purpose as stated being to
allow the sale of fish from a truck,' n6t caught by the
vendor. The Board ~iscussed the matter with reference to,
sanitary requirements,~and voted to table the matter until
we had determined any state regulations that might cover
same.
Mr. Nestor Richards, Harbor. Master was present'and discussed'with
the Board the matter of morings, he was authorized to~
straighten out the chain and buoys andpaint the spars on
the present guest moorings. Also discussed was the type~of
buoy that might be used to mark the new opening at madaket
it was suggested that a bamboo pole with flag of the~type,
used by fishermen might be suitable, and the Harbor Master
was authorized~to rig a trial buoy of this type and see
how it would work.
Mr. Manuel F. Dias dba Log*Cabin Dine and Dance was granted an
entertainment,license for an orchestra at said place of
business on weekdays~only, ,~ , ~, - ...... -
An applicatio'n~fro'm the Mad Hatter fo~ recorded muSic sunday
license was approved by the Board. .,,
The Board discussed the,plan and outline of~cost as submitted,by
the Gas'and Elec.~Co. covering the installation of
and two lights'at the rotary.at the milestone, as voted unde
article 44 of the annual warrant.
It was~voted to notiff ~r Francisco T. Rebimbas that the
· ., Board
would hold a hearing next wednesday on the matter~0f his
selling alcoholic beverages .to a minor.
Mr. Ralph Marble was' granted a permit to run electric service
wires over a portion of Bartlett Rd. in connection with..
electric service_~to~the golf course he is constructing.
The matter of the light,requested by the School:committee on'
Atlantic Ave.~at the entrance to the High School parking
area was discussed~and it was voted to,suggest to the school
committee that-the,purpose could be accomplished by the in-
stallation of a.flood light on the school property which',
could be turned on. and'off as needed.
A notice was received"from the DPU that final arguments on ~he
water co. rate.case~would be heard at Boston on Wed. April
25th 1962.
Letters were received from L. Greenleaf Zm~ H. W. Tucker and Step
Wise relative to the handling of the Main St. crowds, conten
noted and filed.

~ ceived from only lone bidder that~being Motorola as follows:

discussed with Chief Howes the matter of purchasing a new
radio for the cruiser out of the' article/for the said cruise:
the cost being,633i50, and it was voted to approve same:~t
the said article 60,specifying the money was appropriated
for the purchase of the cruiser-and necessaryequipment.
FireDep~.:Art'icle 66.. Bid of motorola in the amount of $1698.00
was voted accepted.. · ....
Article 65:' Covering misc articles for the Fire dept. was bid
on by two firms. Gorham'and Cbs. Clougherty Co. as there
was some difference in'the items as bid and as Specified~'~
this matter was ,tabled until we could~determine more in-'
formation on this matter,.
Art 98 covering CitiZens BanM tyPe radios for the c. D., dept.
was bid on by two firms. Earl T.-Lowe'l.'l and Daniel T. Murphy
'Mr. Lowell bid.1254.80 and Mr. Mfirphy 1396.80 on motion,
made and seconded'it was voted that same be awarded the
lowest bidder Mr, Lowell.
A letter"was recieved from Mrs Walling thanking the Board' for,
its thoughtfulness in naming a'road in Gouin village after
her son Cmdr. 'John Walling.
Peases Garage was granted a renewal of it s taxi permit for ,the
ensuing year. :-: .:.:, : ,~
The taxi i'icense-regulations were examined by'the Board~at the'
request of,the Town. Clerk and the item as'regards airport
fares was changed to clarify same without changing'same
from last year as ,to fare.
Voted to meetly' with the Finance Committee on'Friday to discuss
matters relating to' Mosquito control.' . _. :,
There being no further business the Board went into 'exec~tive
session and adj. at 10.30 PM.
