Warrant No. 11 totalling $44,26'7.90 was presented by Town'Ac~t'}
Barrett and checked~?nd approved by the Board. ~, ' ....
Minutes of the previous meeting.were read and approved.
Mr, Roy E. Sanguinetti Esq. was present and thanked the Board
for his re'-appointment~ as Town Counsel' .
Allens Lobster Grill'applied for a renewal of its Common Vic~i
license and same was voted approved.
Mr. Norman Giffin agent of'the/Steamship A~th requested ~hat
lhe parking ~rea used~in the Winter as a~skating area be
restored to,its °ondition for use'of the ~uthority,' and '~
same was voted referred to the high~ay dept.
The Girl Scouts request6d that~the old'gas heater in the kitchen
which is no longer used be removed and same was OKd.~
A request was received from the Nant. Boys Club Inc.' requesting
that the Board proclaim the week of April 8-15th as Boys
Club Week and same was so-voted.
Rep. Mooney submitted a proposed draft of bill relative to t'he ....
authorization to the Town,to take over the water co/ and
after some discussion as.to the vote necessary it was voted
to write Rep. Mooney further on this matter.

Selectmens..Mee~ing 21 March 1962
The meeting came.to order at 7.30 PM all members of the Board being present.
Warrant No. 12,'- totalling $7,852.33 was presented By Town Acct. Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
Minutes of the previous meeting 'were ~ead and approved.
Mrs Jessee Murphy was present with reference to.a~notice from'the
Board of a hearing with respect to action by the Board on
her license to sell-wines and malt beverages, she having
been convicted in the District Court of selling to a minor.
Mrs Murphy stated that she had plead guilty in court, that
she had sold to a m~nor without ascertaining his age, but
that she did not know him to be a minor at the time. The
Board took this matter under advisement and.later in executi'
session voted to suspend the license of Mrs Murphy to sell
Wines and Malt beverages for a period of 30 days starting
Sat. 24 March 1962 and expiring at midnite on 22 April 1962.
Mr. Peter Gomes former was present and turned over to the Board
various papers relative to the post of Harbor Master,' Mr,
Gomes also,request a permit to lay underground pipes under
Washington St. extension in connection iwith a~lobster pound
at the Thomas fish Mkt. he was advised that he'should obtain
the necessary forms for this matter from the Supt. of street:
Mr. Walter F. Gl°wacki was present and filed an application with
the Board for a seasonal all alcoholic,license at premises
on Macy lane, Nantucket, same was voted to take the course
prescribed by law. .. ~
The Board was'in receipt of a letter from the Nant.'Hist.-TruSt
advising that they were'releasing any rights they had to
a renewal of the seasonal license formerly held by the Ocean
House and which was transferred to the trust last fall.
Applications were received from the following for renewals Of
alcoholic beverage licenses and voted to_~ake .the course
prescribed by law: Boat House Rest; Allens Lobster Grille;Roi ~walk Rest.
Chicken Box rest; Sea Cliff Inn and 30 Acres.
A notice was received from the DPW of 'the application of H. Brooks
Walker and wife for a permit to build a porch over the water
at premises on ~tMxMmmi~ Commercial Wharf,,the Board having
no objections to same this matter was noted and filed.
A letter was received from Mr. Walter Pollack Commenting on the
matter of a sand dyke at Madaket and suggesting that he did
'not believe the'Finance Committee showed good judgment in
recommending this structure. It was pointed out that the.
Finance Committee was not responsible for this item, but thai
same was.done at the request of the Board, on the suggestion
of DPW and Army Eng. ~ . ......
A letter was received from Rep. Mooney advising,.that he had confer~
with Federal representatives relative to money for shore
protection, and that same was only-available through the Small
'business Adm. and for commercial properties.
A letter was received from the Sportsmans Club asking the Board
to write to the Dir. of Fish and Game.relative to clarificat~
of the laws on Rabbitts, and the Board voted to do so.
A'letter was received from the Supt. of Schools requesting the
installation of two mercury vapor lights on poles opposite
the intrance to the parking area at the High school. The
Board discussed this matter but took no actonuntil we had
~0~ looked at the area.
