The meeting,came to order at 7.30 PM all members of the Board

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
New bids on collecting rubbish and garbage were received as
follows: Myles Reis 413.50; Nathan Thurston $360.00
Albert C. Johnsen Jr. 425.50. It was voted that the award
of this matter be tabled'until the Rest. Sanitation Insp.
had inspected all vehicles and reported.to the Board.
The Board signed a formal 9e'tition'to'the Dept. of Public
..... · Works requesting work at Hither CreeN.
A letter was received from AttY."G~rdner Rus,sell, as"Secy.'
of the Nant. Yacht Club with reference to drainage
from Beach street and same wa~.voted referred to the Sewer
Commiss ion. . · .i .' ' '
Rep, ~Mooney',forwarded a copy of the Legislative bill authorizing
the Park and Rec. Commission to borrow money and same was
referred to the Finance Committee.
On request~of Ci.D, Dir. Cn r g :Annis, the Board*appointed Mr.".
Lennox Bodman aS Radio~Officer for the local civil defense.
The,Cmdr,.U,S, Naval Facility.wrote requesting the Board to
suggest the~name of a,naval officer in who's memory the. ~
.street at the Gov..Housing projuect at Vesper Lane might
be dedicated, after consideration the Board voted to sugges
the.name of Cmdr. John. Walling USN.
A letter.was received from.the'Airport Commission relative to
a letter withlregards_to a 1963 project and the Board table

and same was voted to take the course prescribed by law.
Some recommendations were~received from the Committee of.Chief
Howes~' Chief Bartlett and Supt. of streets Jaeckle relative
to traffic and placed on file,
There being no. further business the Board went into executive
session and adj, at 9,30 PM.
