HomeMy WebLinkAbout1961-12-27Sele¢,tmens Meeting 27 Dec. 196J .... , The meeting came'to Order at 7.30 PM all members of the Board being present except Mr. Pease., Warrant No. 52, totalling $44,826.91 was presented by Town Acct. Barrett and checked and approved by the Board. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved, On motion made and seconded it was'voted to open the Warrant for the Annual Town,Meeting with the notation that same may be closed on iT January 1962. Mr. Lemon Royal and Mr. Arthur Davis were pre~ent and complained to the Board of the persistent odor of gas in the building which on some days made it impossible for them to keep their offices open. After some discussion of what had been done to try and locate the source of this odor it was voted that if nothing could be done locally that we write to the~State Dept of Health and see if they would send someone here to investig the matter. It was voted to advertise for bids on collecting rubbish and garbal at various town and county blds for 1962 same to be in by 10 January 1962~' It was voted to ask the two local printers to submit bids on the printing of the Town Report at our next neeting, specificatio to be the same as last year. Vote to request the Island Ser. Co. and Sherburne Oil Co. to submi bids at our next meeting for f~rnishing fuel oil to various Town'and CountF bldgs for 1962. , . Nant. Ph. Inc. was granted a renewal of its Commom Vict. and Ice Cream Lic. Richard Parket et al dba The Mad Hatter were granted a renewal of their Innholders lice. and lic. for recorded music weekdays only. Thomas Sea Foods aPplied for a Common Vict, lic. at premises on 'Union St, and same was approved conditionally subject to insp. of the premises when ready. A letter was received from Mr, Walter Pollack relative to some, action on a jetty at Hither Creek. Also on the same subject a copy of a letter sent by Retp Mooney to Comm. Bessette was received.,After discussion it was voted to see if we coul arrange a meeting at Boston on 12 j'an. 62. The matter of post cards for getting information oncomparatlve water bills under pre meter and under present meter system was discussed and Mr. Desrocher submitted a proposed ~rd which was adopted by the Board and the local printers asked to submit a bid next meeting for printing of 2000 of same.
