The meeting came to order at 8PM all members of the Board being
present.
Warrant No. 30, totalling $19,$$?.35 was presented by Town Acct.
Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
Minutes of the previous'meeting were read and approved.
Mr. Thurlow Barnes and Mrs Gibbs' of Commercial Wharf area Were
present and noted for the Boards information the fact that
considerable washing and sand deposits occurred in the area
of their propertys during the heavy rainfall of this week,
stated .that they felt the matter was one of insufficinet
surface drainage in the area. .
Mr. Gordon Folger'was present and also spoke of' the problem Of
poor surface drainage in the ~.aston St. area, stated .that durin
.the heavy rainfall of this week sewage had backed up in catch
basins and overflowed the streets, and that at this date three
of the existing surface drains are still clogged up..It was
voted to request the sewer commission meet with us next week
to discuss this matter of surface drainage.
Mr. Thomas McGr'ath Sr. wrote advising that he would make a survey
of the existing old fire.cisterns for a cost of under $50.00
and same was voted approved.
The Nant 'Gas & Ele. Co. wrote advising of receipt o~ our letter
requesting installation of a, mercury vapor type light at the
milestone rotary area~and advised that while this wo~ld help
the area called for additional lighting. No action was taken
o~ this Suggestion at this time.
On request of Chief Howes it was voted to have the signs on the
N. side of Steamboat Wharf, (Broad St) changed from No parking
12 noon to 10 PM to No parking from 10 AM to 10 PM. due to
change~ in Boat schedules this year.
Voted to advise Mr. James Alien dto remove the old boat hulk from
the shore at Hither Creek within three days or that we would
have same removed and bill him for same.
On request of Chief Howes it was voted to have a no parking area
aprox, two car lengths in front of the Schenck property on
Center St. this to serve as a turn out area to relieve traffic
and also to cover the Schenck driveway from being obstructed.
Main St, fete committee was granted permission to sell tickets on
Main St. for various matters in connection with said Fete.
Voted to write the Wannacomet Water Co. "approving the installation
of a Hydrant on Gay St S. side near" lvin Ray property at
location approved by Fire Chief.
On reques~ of the Park and Rec. Commission it was voted to have
no parking area marked on the West side of the main Codfish
Pk'road and also on the ~ast side at the driveway of Phil
Williams, the Comm. advising that they were providing adequate
off the street .parking to accomodate cars.
Mr. Wayne Ailen was granted ~a permit to hold weekly dances at
Legion Hall of Thursdays for the Months of July and Aug. from
8PM to 1AM he toprovide a Sp. Police~approved by Chief Howes.
Voted to write the harbor, master to check on water skiers at the
Jetties Beach skieing area, relative to complaints that skiers
are coming in too close to shore.
The matter of trailes accumulating at the Authority property near
the Yacht club was brought up and it was voted to write the
Auth. on same.

Matter of,loam, unseeded near the pr~perty:0f-Phil Grant on Cliff
road was discussed and voted to .ask the contractor, Glowacki
if same could be rolled or otherwise compressed so'that 'people
walking would not sink into same.
The matter of'crow~s at the movies'ou't~into S. Water St. was.
discussed and voted to have the Secy. confur with Mr.'Plan~i~an
and Chief Howes on this matter.
Vo~ed ~o'Write the sightseeing bus operators, Towhili (island'Sigh'
seeing Tours,. and Chester Barrett ~hat sightseeing busses that
leave ~he bus stand on ~ederal St.'must unload at said~s~and~'
and ~hat,busses that leave ~he wharves ~ must unload-at the
warves or some other off the stree~location so as not to cauS~
traffis congestion. ~Also that busses shall be parked off the
streets unless.in the bus 'stand or in operation~ '
