Warrant No. 29, totalling $10,~55.32 was PreAented by Town Acct. Barrett and checked and 'approved by the Board.' Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.' Bids-on Art."22 were received~as foilows:'*'Supt- Jaeckle report ~d that'al Nant. Const. Co. .17¢ per gal though some refuse w s on the road~ Walter P. Glowacki .20¢ per gal that N.E. land was a s, a dump & Voted that same be awarded the lowest bidder, Nant.' c6nt.co~ it was voted . to have our Various'letters were received relative' to the 'steps 'at the area cleaned bank at Magnolia Ave.' and it was-r~ported to the Board by up and to haw'i the Secy. that Mr. Puttrick had made a~survey.of the steps the Secy.vist and estimated that it would cost $250.00 to make temporary area with Mr. repairs and that same would have to be' completely rebuilt. Heard of N.E. As we have no appropriation at'this time this matter was tabled for an article in the annual warrant.' Mr. Jame~ ~alsh in-behalf of the KofC Was granted a comm6n vict. license relative to their carnval. Mr. Henry Coffin, OId Sc0nset Golf was granted a renewal of 'his soft drink license. The matter Of a'request of Ch. Thomas for a no parking area = opposite his driveway on Union St. was tabled it appearing to the Board that his driveway was wide wnough to allow .entrance without detracting.from the parking on the opposite side of the street. Voted to send a letter to Mrs Ch.'Knolton~ on the death Of her husband who had served as Treasurer of the Mass Selectmens Asso. for, many- ye ars. Voted to write the caretaker of thee cemetary lots that the Old N. Cemetary on New Lane needed attention. Voted to ask supt. of streets t0 mark a' right' of way to the shore at Dionnis near the cranberry bgg. ; There being no further business th~Board went into executive session and_adj, at 10 PM. ,~ ; Esecufive Session:' Mr. Clem ReynOlds was presenti~d discussed with,the Board the matter of the amount of undesireable fairies or sex perverts about, and it was.voted to have Chief Howes contact state authorities and have some plain cloths men come down as we had done a few years ago. Thematter of the garbage at Our Island Home'was discussed and it was voted to have Mr. Albert Johnsen Jr. cart same. On' report 'of Chief Howes it was Voted to write Herbert and Allen Wood relative to their compliance with the taxi regu as to wearing of buttons and posting of rates. Voted to'authorize Robert Blair'to electrify the dumb waiter at Our Island Home at a cost'of not to exceed "250.00. )ns Voted to have t~o small lights ~removed at the milestone area and one mercury vapor light installed.
