The meeting came to order at 7.30 PM all members 0-£ the Board
being present.
Warrant No, 17, totalling $ ~i32.~31 was presented.by. Town Acct.
Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
Minutes of the previous meeting were'read and approved,
Mr. Dennis Dias dba Log Cabin .Dine and dance was gr'~nted permiss:
to have tables, on the lawn at the rear ofhis licensed
Surfside Rd. Nantucket Mass,
Voted that the Town Comfort stations open May 27 thru 31st then
close and reopen for the summer of 15 June thru Sept.
The Mad Hatter was granted a permit for Piano entertainment
on weekdays and Sundays for recorded music only, .no group
singing.
Frant T. Rebimbas was granted a renewal of his soft drink and
Ice Cream licenses
VFW was granted permission to hold their annual poppy day on

screens and storm sash at Our Island Home, same to be in

Applications for the position of Assessor Were received from
the following: John McLaughlin Jr. Earl Ray, George R; Grim~
and Le~n Royal,~ same were.tabled at this time..~.
Voted to authorize the purchase of a 1 and 1/8" screen do'or for
the Sconset Comfort Station.
One bid in ihe amouht '~f $852.00 for grading, l°aming and seedin
of the Sanford House grounds was received from Manuel Dias

Mr. Kenneth Coffin bid $175.00 for the opening of Sesachacha Pon
and being the only bi.d was voted accepted.

Mr. Devine,and Mr' Rogers of,thee:Boston.,Mutual,and Blue Gross

matter of a new contract ,for town and COUnty employees.
Mr.~Devine advised ~hat:t'hei~"rate would be 'reduced fr~m 1.7
per thousand'to 1.55 a thousand due to the decease of Mr
who's age had caused out'rate,to,be up. ~- ~-
'Blue cross an~xm~+.~t~zrates are to remain the same.,,
Blue shielf rates are to increase 9¢'for single members and
73¢ for family goups. ,per month to be split hal~ and half
by the member and the employer the town and or county. ~
On motion made and'seconded~it was voted to approved the
new contracts for' these plans with the aforesaid Boston
Mutual and Blue cross and shield. -, - ' :
Mr. Ezra Shaw, and Mr. Wilson Hill'of the Soil~Conservation'c°mm.
were present and discussed the matter,or,seeding the dunes
in the Madaket area. Mr. Hill expl. ained to the Board the
work that he had been doing on matters of,this nature and
pointed out that 'it was first necessary to stabalize the
beach berm area before, any successful planting, could be
undertaken, suggested that the proper method was to replant
local beach grass and to fertalize same and thatin this
way a good growth could be obtained which would help hold
the dunes after they had once been built up.
There being no further business the Board went into executive
session to discuss welfare matters agd adj. at:lO:~5 PM..
Voted to inquire of(the'.Tow~ cou~ja~S~his opinion as to the
matter of fee that ~o-rvld~b~e charged for licensing~taxi"
cabs and whether, the number of ~abs:could be limited:or not.
Voted to authorize the Red CrOss to usetwo rooms at the-Hoosier
House formerly used by Planned Playtime for the yearly renta
