12 April 1961 ..
The meeting ~ame to orde~ at 7.30 PM all'members of t~e Board
being present.
Warrant No. 1S,' t~talling'$79,231.52 was presented by. ToWn Acct.
Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved
Mr. Jaeckle Supt. of streets was present and submitted specificat~
for various road work to be adv. for bids, namely Gen. contra
, Delaney Road, Capaum Road, Williams Lane sidewalk, Sparks
Ave. and Gen. bid on installing curb. voted to adv. for bid~
to be in on 26 April 61.
The matter of installation of~ curbs and construction of side-"
walks was discussed and it was v°ted to do the following at
this time: Paul Morris, Sr. Prospect. St.; Dave Murray Walsh
St.; Ripley Nelson Vest'al St. and continue lower, orange St
Chief Bartlett was present and discussed with the Board Spec{fica
for installation of door at Fire sra. art. 56 , purchase of
hose and other equipment and it was voted to adv. same for bid
to be in on the 26th, and further to authorize the chief to
insert an adv. in a firemans magazine for sale of the old lad
truck, same to be in vy 15 June 1961. _.
The Board aaso discussed with the chief the matter of hydrani
and pressure in the fire protection system, the chief advise{
that he was bringing the map showing the various mains up to
date and would further determine how much if any four inch
water main has been installed since 1933.
Mr. and Mrs Francis Holdgate dba WeStmoor Inn Were granted a re-
newal of their Lodging House license.
List of Sp. police for fire'and police patrols were submitted by
the VPW and Chief Bartlett and approved by the Board.
Mr. and Mrs Ernest TriPp wrote denOting their interest~in'a
liquor license shouldone become available.
A letter was received frOm the water company relative to our
suggestion of bringing their main across cliff road, advising
that same had been forwarded to the company.
Mr. Nathan Thurston dba Sunny Acres Dairy Bar was gaanteda renew~
of his soft drink license. ~' '. ' '
The Warrant for the dog officer was received from the'T°~n counsel
signed by the Ch. and given in hand to the Dog Officer Mr-'
Stuart B. Day.
Cliff ~ide Be~hh Club Inc. was granted a Common Vict. a~d soft
drink license.
Mr. Seddon W. Legg Sr. was appointed as Vet. Graves offic~'r on
nomination of the Amer. .Legion ......
Voted to adv. on grading and seeding of the Sanford House grounds
same to be in with other bids on the 26th.
Their being no further business the Board went into executie2
session and adj. at 10 PM.
