The meeting came to order at 7:30 PM all membersi'of the Board
being present except Mr. Meilbye..

Barrett and checked and approved by the. Board...
Letters of protest on the matter of the site ~f the 'Legion
carnival were received from the following: George Fraker,
Chs. L. Bolling, Mrs L.,Bolling, William C. Miller,
Sam Connonrs Jr,John S. Taber and H. Crowell Freeman.
Voted to request.the Legion Committee to discuss this
matter further with us.
The Board discussed the matter of the Wannacomet Water Co pro-
posed rate increase and Secy. Glidden.:.advised.as to his
contacts with attys and engineers as to this matter. No
action was taken at this time pending further information
Mr. David K. Wetherbee of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife service
at Mass State College Amherst wrote setting out proposed
expirements at Muskeget Island as regards the gull colony
and the Board could see no objection to the proposals
as outlined therein.
A letter was received from Senator Stone enclosing a notice of
the removal of a restricted navigation area and placed on
file.'
A letter was received from the Town Counsel advising that~ there
was no legal reason why Mr.~Snow could not continue to
serve on the Finance Committee and work at the airport
on the maintenance staff.
The' Tow~ Counsel also advised that it was proper to have
a Sp. Town Meeting at the conclusiion of the regular meeti
to vote acceptance of the bill pertaining to hi. of applic
for service in the,police dept.
Letters were.~eceived'from Miss Brooks, Mr. Browning and Mr. Daucl
quoting their views all in favor of-the article for'snow
fence and dune rebuilding at the Madaket area.
Mr. Anthony D~ca was granted a renewal of his Common Vici.
License at S. Water St.
A letter from~Atty. Bar1C. Parks relative the the Childrens
Beach and the Miller property was received and referred to
the Park and Recreation committee;
APplications for renewals of seasonal alcoholic beverage license:
were received from the following and voted to take the
course-prescribed by law: Walter C. and Helen F. Hatch,
Murrays Bev.Store Inc. The Islander Inc. and Richard Parke~
et al dba the Mad Hatter.
It was ~oted t~ ask the town counsels opinion"of, any statutory.
authority for the Town to take or purchase the Wannacomet
Water Co.
The matter of.attending the hearing in Boston at the DPW on the
application of S. Volpe Co. to rebuild a pier and dredge
a dock area for use of the Steamship Auth. was discussed
and felt that as many of the Board as could arrange shoul,
attend same.
There being no further business the meeting adj. at 9.45 PM.
